Default Car totaled!

Well my car is totaled, I think. I haven't gotten word back from the body shop yet, but the car is a goner I'm sure. I was cruising down the highway at about 60mph when I felt my tire go flat. I started to slow down, and the back end swung around and slammed me front first into the guard rail. I swung back around and nailed the back end on the guard rail as well and popped back into rush hour traffic. Thankfully my baby gave her last breath pushing me out of the way of an eighteen wheeler headed straight for me. Anyway, I have some questions.

1. How does this work with insurance? I already filed the claim and got the police report citing the blowout as the cause. Will they pay for my car? I have comprehensive, collision, and liability, all the lowest deductible possible. My car is a 2007 auto with only 24K miles on it, I'm not too sure what to expect as far as my claim goes.

2. If it is totaled, can I take pieces off beyond my aftermarket parts to part out? I'm not sure how this works.

3. What should I be looking for next? I'm curious as to what a manual ~2005 or so would cost. Any ideas on what they are running?

Anyway, here is my car, let me know what you guys think.

Thanks!

Thanks people, I appreciate it! Anybody ever had this happen and figured out what insurance does? I'm trying to decide on whether I should get a used tC and how much that would run me, and if not, what should I look at?

that is totaled.

The way that the insurance will work is that you will have to pay your deductible and the insurance will determine the value of the car and cut you a check for the value minus you deductible. You will not be able to take things off your car not aftermarket because they will deduct those items from the value of the car.

Great, that's what I thought, thanks man. I'm hoping to get around 16K for it, does that sound reasonable? Lil_wil said he got 14,700 from his insurance co for an 05. I'm thinking it should be more for an 07. Ideas? Thanks for the help guys!

I'm hoping they'll do private party . Then I'd get enough to buy a 350z maybe!

Once I figure out what is going on, I'll let you know what the deal with parting is. I'm hoping there are still some more salvageable parts. The interior still looks great, so I'll see what I can do.
