Glad you are alright, but now you may have another problem. You said the airbags weren't blown, and depending on which insurance company you have, they may NOT total it. They may cut you a check for $6000 to fix it. Cars worse off than that are fixed up and sold cheap on eBay with salvage titles. If you have one of the low-end insurers like Progressive or SafeAuto, this may not end up the way you're hoping. Good luck and keep us posted.

Just looking at the picture.,,,,the CAR IS FKED UP... i don;t think they will try to fix that even though the airbags didn.t deploy. I remember I got a quote for a new engine installed at the dealership for $4.5K. just the engine

Make sure you let Scion Corp. know about this. It's a common problem, which shouldn't be.. Your front was done for. No reason it shouldn't have gone off..

Yeah, it is definitely totaled. I got the statement from the body shop. Now we just wait on insurance to see what they'll give me. I hit the guard rail almost head on as you can tell, so should my air bags have gone off? I would think so. Also, good call on the grille and the air filter, I'll be sure to grab those when I go down to get my stuff on Saturday. Now the question is, depending on what the insurance company gives me, what do I buy now? I am looking to buy used something. I'm thinking about an 05 tC manual. Ideas?

State Farm. I have collision, liability, and comprehensive, all with the lowest deductible.

If you do get another TC, definitely go for the manual! Generally cheaper used, and much more fun to drive.

Really sorry about your car though, but at least you came out ok.

I think I'm gonna have stop lurking these forums. Every week, I see at least one thread with another TC damaged. It's pretty depressing, seeing as I just got mine about a month ago!

Damn thats crazy & i thought my car was bad, glad to know ur alive, i gotta ask how in da world statefarm is giving u $17.5 for 07 & they gave me $16.7 for an 08 anyways enjoy your s2k, for me i just managed to get away with a clean slate with gap insurance, although i wouldn't call the tc cursed coz its just the general age group that drives the car which is between 18-30 hence explaining all the accidents & high insurance
oh & here's a pic of my car
