Does anyone have this? Anyone ever seen this before? I wonder how much of a weight savings it would be?

Dude, I did. All I could find was how Dan Gardner had it on his time attack tc and how Kamanari specially builds them per order.
What I wanted to know was if anyone on the forums here has one on their personal car, and how much of a weight savings it is over stock.....these things I could not find on the search.
my tc is a spec model and it came with a solid glass roof that didnt open much like that CF panel. the weight of the actual sunroof vs the solid glass roof was very noticeable. so i imagine this swap would help alot.
If I remember correctly I remember the weight difference between the stock sunroof and the carbon roof is ~40lbs...
Pretty good piece especially since all that weight comes off the top of the car.

Im not sure on the horsepower equation, but it's definitely a significant step in the lowering the car's center of gravitity which is very important for handling.
Also, as an approximate rule of thumb, there is the old saying that for every 100 lbs you take off of a car, you will be about 1 second quicker in the quarter mile.
So if you take a relatively heavy car like the tc (which is right at 3000 lbs) and do a cf roof, cf hood, cf hatch, cf fenders and cf doors (which are all available for our cars), put on some lightweight wheels like Enkei RPF1's, get a lightweight battery, remove the spare tire/jack, and remove the rear seat, Im guessing (emphasis on the word guessing) you could shave around 350 lbs off the car.
A stock TC will run low 16's in the quarter mile, maybe a 15.9 if you are a great driver.
So do the weight shedding and add in solid bolt on mods with a set-up like mine:
Injen CAI
DC Headers/Invidia S-pipe/TRD catback
NST crank/alt/wp pulleys
Descendant Intake Manifold
Unichip w/ custom tune
Energy Suspension polyurethane motor mounts
TRD Short-shifter
17x8 Enkei RPF1's with a sticky tire compound
(future mod) port-n-polish + valve job
(future mod) TRD coilovers
.....and you end up with a very very respectable quarter mile time in a naturally aspirated car that everyone assumes is heavy and slow. With the right tires and right driver you can hit 12's with a set-up like this and I'm going to prove it. Ive already got the engine mod list you see hear, now Ive just got to raise the $ for all the carbon fiber and port-n-polish.

And before anyone mentions it....yes I know it's much easier to get there with forced induction lol. I already know, I had the TRD s/c for a while but I sold it so I can get my freakin' car paid off!

i only know of one or two people who have done it to their cars... and one of them was a demo car for the guy's company..
he's posted up the weight differences, and it's a pretty good amount.
@joyride... are you purposefully trying to be stupid? if not, you're still succeeding anyway.

Maybe, or maybe not. I do realize that the proof is in the pudding so to speak and that this is all speculation until there are dyno sheets and ¼ mile time slips to back it up. But I really believe that with this set-up, and with the perfect day on a warm track at sea level, that a 12.9 or 12.8 could be seen. Only time will tell. Im slowly getting towards my build goals, and I'm also trying to move back down to the Tampa/St. Pete Beach area later this year so I'll have the right location to try it out.

It sucks having a heavy car, but the upside is that there is a ton of weight to be shaved off.
