So I thought I'd post my carmax selling experience.
Car: 2008 BSP tC 29800miles, manual tranny, lowered with stechs, interior color matched to outside, suede headliner and pillers, yellow top optima, stock lip spoiler, and blacked out tails and gauges were red and white.
I had $6800 to pay off.
1st. Scion dealership 1 offered $10K and just breezed over the outside. I laughed and walked out. They are d!cks anyway the last few times I've been there and it shows cuz no one is ever there now that the new owners took over.
2nd. Scion dealer 2 offered $11K same day but had to put stock springs back on. Super nice guys, bought first tc there and sister just bought Camry there. Place was packed compared to the 1st one.lol I told them I'd try and get the springs off and come back. The guy said it was an open offer.
3rd. Next day Carmax. Super nice also and also packed. They looked car up down all around and while I waited I got to drive a 2010 z06 which was awesome! In the end they offered $11K but didn't have to take springs off but they said I probably would have gotten a few hundred more. I took it. About 45mins later I had my car paid off and a bank draft for the difference which went to help payoff the xB.
I wanted more but I really needed to sell before the end of August and in the end it's nice not to have the payment but it was my winning car show car at once and was fun to drive.
If you are looking for a fast sale and have equity in your car it's a good place to sell. If you have time to sell it sell on your own. Also take all aftermarket stuff off. More so if selling to a dealer put stock suspension back one so they can certify the car and it will get you a few hundred more.
Again a little low about $1200 lower then fair trade but needing to sell fast was very happy. Plus I got to drive a z06 and the guy didn't care how I drove it.lol The highway was fun.
