Default Cat back exhaust

I haven't looked under my car yet cause it doesn't have enought miles to change the oil but it kinda looks like the catylitic converter and the center pipe is one piece...now i know i haven't seen a lot of cat back systems for the xB but i was wondering has anybody i guess fabricated a center pipe so that its the same diameter as and axle back cause i was thinking of doing this with the Blitz axle back but was making sure if anybody did this before i go cutting and welding.

I am sorry to say that there are no companies out there making a centr pipe only set-up. There is a cat back you can buy from magna flow, but it replaces your axle back too. To make the center section, you would have to cutt your axle back now to weld onto the new piece to make sure the pipe is the right size all the way through. :D

Try what I did. I went to a custom shop. They cut everything aft of the cat off and on the floor it went. They then ran 2.5 inch pipe back to the new high flow muffler. Everything welded, nmo bolts.Sounds great. Looks great.Costs $175. Might not be stainless, but will last a long time. Makes a big difference along with a CAI.

If you want a true cat-back system, Magnaflow produces one. Sure you can go to mufflers shops and have one custom bent for you, but Magnaflow has done all the work already. If you're not running a turbo or s/c you will not need piping any larger than 2.25 inch diameter.

There are many axleback systems on the market also. It just depends on how much you want to spend, and the sound that you are looking for.

chucksu, after I put a 3" catback magnaflow on my civic, My avg gas mileage went from 30mpg to 34mpg, and thats with me running the ____ out of it----altho the moment I added a coldair induction it completely killed that 4mpg gain, so I was back to 29mpg

its all a matter of what your willing to do for a gain in mileage or performance

I highly recommend a highflow cat and/or catback exhaust

and anything from magnaflow is top notch

Dude once again you cannot compare the honda civic to the Scion at all. The RPMs on a scion run at 3500 RPMs at 65mph. The RPMs on a civic are considerably lower at 65. Now when a motor revs as high as ours does u have to make sure the exhaust is done properly or else say good buy to torque and gas milage.
