Okay so just a quick story that I think you guys might get a kick out of. Tonight I was on my way to my cousins house in the next town over, and at a stop light this Chevy Cobalt SS pulls up behind me and starts speeding up and riding my @$$. I can hear his supercharger whining and im like, "wow, really?!" Theres a stop sign up ahead with a lane to go straight, and a lane to turn left and I was going straight but he pulled into the left lane and he and his friend GRILL me and the driver yelled out "JUUUNKKKKK!!!" In my head i was like, "dude, you drive a supercharged SLOWbalt" but i didnt think of it until after so i just looked sad when i drove away hahahahaha
im so sick of kids hating on the tC. i dont get why so many people have such an issue with it. it's a BEAST when it's boosted.

i find it amusing that alot of people hate on tc's.
especially boosted ones.
i see alot of kids in evos, andd srt 4s that hate the most.
the irony of the situation.....
a lancer evo x is nothing more than a standard lancer with a turbo, upgraded brakes and fancy seats....all worth $32,000 because mitsubishi wants to rip you off....
a standard lancer costs around $17,500, same as a tc.
a standard lancer is equipped with 160 hp.
same as a stock tc.
so if you take your tc, boost it for around $5000 for a good kit
it has potential to be as very fast car.
a stock tc motor can handle up to 350whp
so for your $17,500 car and $5,000 upgrade, you can tune the car to about 340whp....and the cost of your car is a total of $22,000.
$10,000 less than the evo.
that leaves you alot of cash to do a motor build for even more power,body styling,suspension etc.
the point is, a turbo tc, tuned right and enough psi, has enough potential to keep up with stock evos, or even beat them.fact of the matter is, most kids with evos dont pay for them. or their insurance, you can only imagine what insurance on a $32,000 financed turbocharged car for an 18yo kid with a 14.5 % apr rate is gonna cost. do the math... flippin burgers aint cuttin it.
so these kids mostly hate because they are spoiled _____es. that think they are better than you because their parents are loaded.and you "settled for what you could get"
theres a kid that lives near me, hes 16yo and is unemployed, he drives a lancer evo 9 pushing like 410whp. i know this because i actually held a conversation with this douchebag at a mcdonalds. he told me his parents bought his car, gave him money to upgrade it, and pay his insurance. his response to me was "why would you boost a slow ___ tc" my response was punching him in the face and i havent seen hiim since.

dodge decided to throw a pt cruiser motor into it and call it a drag racing vehicle.
srt4s are garbage...enough said.

You guys are crying over something completly useless. Who the hell cares if they rev at you? Who cares if their mommy and daddy bought their car, pay for the insurance, and pay for all the mods? They'll eventually crash (hopefully not hurting/killing anyone else in the process), and learn their lesson for racing in the first place.
I live in So. Cal. Home of duchebaggery, I drive an '04 xB lowered, manual, exhaust, CF hood and a bucket seat, among other go-fast-at-the-track parts and I get revved at and $hit talked to a lot and I ignore them or if they're really persistent I either talk a lot of $hit back (to the point where they get embarassed), or show them what my car is capable of (if there's a nice twisty road nearby). Deal with it or move on, don't sit there and cry about something so mundane.
Why do all the scion people hate on other makes of cars. Working in the performance industry showed me that Everyone should respect each others car. First off, The new Cobalts are wicked fast, and are actually really nice. Second, no Evo is going to race you while they are stock, An exhaust and tune will kill most boosted tC's. People disrespect the Scion community because we hate on other cars so much. Who cares who paid for your car, or how much it cost. People laugh at us because we dump a third of what we paid for the car into a turbo kit just to make about 300whp on wrong wheel drive, And still get smoked by stage 2 Evo's or STi's that we claim to be better than.

theres a new article in modified mag. Its a cobalt ss putting 352whp. I dont see why everyone has to put others cars down. We all have diff tastes and that all that matters. If you like your car, so what if other ppl say its a girls car or anything else.

and LULZ at the evo being just a turbo lancer, u obviously forgot the ralliart edition that's already boosted aswell (& is used on the genesis) and the evoX that's already equipped with better suspension/tires/engine/wheels/body thenthe regular base model. Fail.

Once they move on to another vehicle, they'll realize that they are just like the Cobalt and SRT4 owners. I've had more tC's try to race me than everything else combined. And you're 100% right. You can easily make a tC faster than a stock Evo when driving in a straight line (lol@racing from a roll, the prime choice for ricers), but it's still front wheel drive, it still has a horrible chassis, it's still girly, and it's still a piece of ____.

BTW I would much rather have an Evo, STi, or SRT Caliber than a Scion. Also I have had more tC's rev at me than any other car, even when i'm clearly boosted and all they have is an exhaust. Lots of tC drivers=Ricers.

This thread reminded me of the time when my xB got hit, and they gave me a Cobalt rental. At the time my buddies and I used to run the canyons, they convinced me to go with the Cobalt, (Why not, I paid for the insurance) I ended up driving that thing through the canyons so fast I left my friend in his Integra, He was butt hurt for weeks! That rental was the perfect sleeper for the next two weeks! LOL!

hate to tell you but most a$$hats that drive cobalts are that way. my old roommate has the cobalt ss/na (the ss version that isn't supercharged) and still claims his car is fast; its the whole mentality of cobalt owners from the ones i've seen around or read on the forums about.

Look, First off...the Evo is a higher performance car, bar none. The tC was never designed to do what the evo was. Second off...why do you care what other people think?

As for the hate on other cars... I REALLY believe it started with other cars hating on the tC. Which then made many tC owners turn and hate on everything else (though most tC owner's hate Civics by default).
I had a guy randomly come up to me at a show recently just to say that he absolutely despised all tCs... but mine was OK. So plainly put, tC's don't have the greatest rep in the rest of the world as it is - and then the last thing we need is people racing around thinking their tC is hot ____ when it is really far from it. Sadly, that's what we get though. And sadly that's more reason my insurance keeps going up.
Stupid little punks think the tC is the fastest car EVAR and then go total it trying to be a badass.
