Default Clappin Noise coming from engine compartment?

Today i was driving my car and it would seem that everytime i took my foot off the accelerator that my car would ride bumpy and i would hear clapping noises coming from the engine bay. Also it felt as though the gas pedal was shaking, but it wasnt cuz i looked at it, and it was still.

I have a CAI installed on the car so i think that just may be loose, but does anyone else know of this or have expirienced the same problem?

I am takin my car into the dealer tomorrow for two reasons:
1) 10,000 mile maintanence, and oil change(its free)

2) Drivers Side seat bottom is broken.. not sure how to explain it, but it has been mentioned.

so i guess i may have htem check it out.. but i would like to know or at least presume what is wrong with the car before i take it in.

Maybe is the CAI hitting the inner part of the fender?

....check your lug nuts...

I thought it might have been ur firewall cuz I heard of some rattling cuz of the thin piece of metal they got on one layer

That sounds more to me like a broken motor mount. If you can have someone look under the hood for you, you should be able to temorarilly power brake it and release the throttle and make it happen if that is the case.

A peice of metal on the firewall, CAI, or something like that is not going to make you feel it throughout the car like you describe.

how would a motor mount be broken?

i checked the piece that usually brakes when you have a CAI but it wasnt broken.

and it is only sometimes.. not always

Motor mounts can break many ways.. some faulty mounts break on thier own..

Not saying that is the case here, but if you get a knock or bang when you let off the gas after putting a load on it, and it is enough that you feel it throughout the car, that sounds like a bad mount to me. Like I said, have someone look under the hood, power brake it and let off quickly. It should be evident quickly if that is the case.

i found out what it was...

and thank god i found out when i did.

i recently put on motegi lug nuts.. and the drivers front wheel was torqued to spec and everything yet 4 of the 5 lugs came off by HAND.. thats right, i twisted them off with my hand, maybe three full turns and they came off.. so the wheel coulda came off at anytime, so i am very grateful that i decided to change my lugs backk to chrome, otherwise something bad coulda happened.
