Base RSX was my only other choice in my car hunt. Thing that deterred me was my friends with Type-S's were saying that if I bought the base, I would regret not getting a type S the day after...I guess everyone trys to race the rsx and if you don't have a type s, you're buggared.

Disregard ClubRSX guys. Even people over at 8thCivic can't stand them.
They're rude, arrogant, and think just because they own the cheapest Acura made that they are better than others.
The 2006+ Si has much more to offer than any RSX had, sans leather. A standard LSD, satellite radio, steering wheel radio controls....the list goes on.
Oh yeah, and the same engine.

The SI engine is rated better than the Type-S engine in performance!

I loved my tc but I looove my Si more. I had an auto tC with cai and I just like my Si better period. That is MY OPINION. It is pretty fast and I'd be glad race any of you NON f/i guys at a track. Not saying that I'd win but the car is pretty fast.

Two minutes of research on google proved you wrong.
The 06 Si's engine is a K20Z3 - 197 hp
The 05-06 Type-S is a K20Z1 - 201 hp
The 02-04 Type-S is a K20A2 - 200 hp (Not by SAE standards as the 06+ were tested by SAE standards) so in essence they would be 190 or 191 hp
