Default Clutch and transmission

You know a lot of people have complained about the clutch and tranny in the Tc. But honestly it's very good. IMO it's better than alot out there. I test drove a Mazda 3 and SRT-4 and the tranny's in those cars were no where as smooth as the Tc. I have also driven a Mini-S, a friend has one, and that tranny is very smooth, but I still think the Tc is very comparable. It is in no way bad though like some people have said. Also my previous car was a 1997 VW Jetta VR6 and people would comment on how smooth my tranny was, but the Tc is light years ahead of that car. So, overall I'd say we should be happy with what we got, cause it's pretty darn good. It's worked for me!

Agreed.

I test drove the car for the first time today (loved it, btw), and found the clutch and gearbox surprisingly smooth for that inexpensive of a car. In fact, the tC seems to have many good qualities that even expensive cars do not have. Clutch length, gearbox feel, throttle response, brake pressure, pedal spacing, etc. are all very well coordinated in the car.

I should be putting an order in for the tC next week. :D

yeah personally i love it, first days i got it, i didnt appreciate it to much, kinda notchy into first and second, still is, but after driving a 2001 accord coupe, a 99 altima, I was very happy with my tranny because of how smooth it was compared to those cars, then last weekend i drove my friends 2002 civic si, and mine was pretty much identical to that one, but i didnt like the rally shift position, all in all remember our car was still under 17k !!

i do wish it had some type of clutch assist like the new pathfinders have, it keeps you from rolling back on hills and such

Oh man...that's what I like about the tC. That the pedals are close together.

one thing i like about the tc is that the gas pedal isn't a mile away as in depth from the brake....much easier to do heel and toe than other modern cars....but nothing compares to pedal placements like a 510.

I wish the brake pedal was just an inch further to the right. I've got a EEE width foot and sometimes when I step on the gas, my foot presses the brake too. Is this adjustable?
