Code Time
Ok, well about an hour ago, I just put my new Short Ram Intake in from CustomtC.com, and a week ago I put in Megan Headers, a Megan S Pipe, and an Injen Axleback Exhaust.
Well the S-Pipe is fouled, so it "matches" the exhaust reading from the headers. Anyway, it threw a CEL, and my mechanic friend says its because either I floored it once, or the O2 sensor is busted, both are possible, I guess its just going to be weather or not I go to the dealer, and when they clear them, they don't come back up.
Also, I put the short ram in, and everything seems fine, except the vacuum house I supplied wasn't long enough, so I'm using the stock one currently.
Anyway, when I went to have my codes ready by autozone, two codes came up:
P0420-Catalyst Efficiency Low-Bank 1
and
P0101 - MAP/BARO or MAF/VAF Sensor condition
I just got off the phone with my friend who used to sell Scions, and he said the MAF was from the introduction of the new intake, and it should go away after a while... is this true?

Well when you installed your intake, did you disconnect the battery first? if not, you should disconnect battery before you do any work, and if so, then you might want to do it again, but it may not just "go away"
Disconnect the battery for a few minutes, connect the battery again, start the car up and let it idle for 10 minutes.
Then, take a nice slow drive at first. Build some speed after a while. Basically in this step you're letting the ECU learn the new A/F mixture.

Disconnect the battery and press the brake pedal a few times, this way it can release any stored power by trying to light the tails. This will reset your ECU but don't forget you loose your station and window controls until you reset them.
Also, Auto Zone or similar parts stores will read codes and erase them for free, no need for the dealer
