Default Couple of questions i tried googling

Hello everyone I would like to know a few things. I have an 05 premier tC. I know i am probably not the only one that hates it when something new comes out in the newer model that your car doesn't have. I would like to know if a few things can be "upgraded" and if they will work with the car. I would like to have a new steering wheel installed with the radio controls on the wheel. If I need to install a new cd deck that is fine with me I also want to add the built in XM system and cd changer deck, along with the bazooka sub. I also would like to know how exactly this would work, I asked the dealership and they said no it was not possible to get that done, and that I would be better off trading the car in for a newer model. I don't have to tell you what my reply to that was but I will tell you it was not exactly friendly =). As far as everything else is concerned, can all of the upgrades that come on the newer models be installed in the 05 model? If you can direct me to a site that specializes in this sort of work that would be awesome.

The 06-07 stereo DEFINITELY swaps in. I dont know about the steering wheel, but I suspect it does also. The dealer told you that trying to sell you a new vehicle off of their lot. There is more info in the scion tC FAQ.

It swaps in too, and all 2008 head units use an underfloor subwoofer, for a stealth look. As for XM, that is controlled by the HU but is a seperate module. The dealer will want approx $450, but Crutchfield sells one for $250 that does the same thing. I know, I have one in my 07!

By the way, Google is a little too general for that type of search. There is a search bar at the top of the page. Its not perfect, but it is probably more useful for your car.

This is the best resource for this car, obviously, thank you for your help and comments, I just started two new jobs and I will finally have the money to spend on my car after two going on three long years of payments. It is time to spend a little money on my ride and myself for once, thanks and I will post a list of parts and ideas I was thinking of going with.

Under the floor subwoofer you say? As opposed to the woofer that fits into the inside of the hatch? I feel really out of touch with the scion technology in the newer models, and I used to be up to date with all of it back in the day when mine was new lol

Yeah it goes next to the spare. It displaces one of the foam cubbies, and the speaker faces upward. If you want something similar but better, there is a side-mount enclosure from Elemental Designs. You can use their woofer, or someone elses (I believe).

Also I know what you mean regarding fixing the car and paying bills. Good thing I buy on sale!
