Crank shaft position sensor
My son replaced the manual transmission on a 05 Tc and now it’s throwing the crank pos sensor code. He thinks he may have rotated the engine backwards on accident while installing the transmission. It’s hard to start then it runs good for a minute then it runs erratic. I started by removing the valve cover and plugs and rotated the engine ( the right way) to top dead center and both the cam marks match up w the timing chain links. Next is to fully remove the timing chain cover and make sure the crank sprocket didn’t jump a tooth and inspect the guide rails and tensioner. But any knowledge of this problem or more importantly the fix would be greatly appreciated.
