My wife drives a tC. As the title reads, I hit the brakes hard and something gets crunchy. I ease into the brakes and I don't get the same result. May not be the brakes but a bushing as the car dives? any insite?

 

dude i have the same issue, when i hit them hard i get a grinding feel

Heard of ABS? That's probably the "crunchy" clicking noises.

 

If I'm not mistaken that feeling is caused by the ABS of the car.

 

If it's a vibration that you feel, it's normal.

If it feels like something is chewing on your right foot, you may want to get that checked.

 

Yep, ABS at work. Thats the car not breaking into a full lock slide because you over used the brakes

 

Yeah its the ABS with the EBD (Electronic Brake Distrubution) push the brake pedal little harder than usual and you feel it working.

 

No, that doesn't make sense. the car just started doing this. I know the ABS feeling and it's not that. I've had this car for a couple years now. Roads were dry. I can ease in to the brakes somewhat hard and I still get the sound. I would say something compressing.
