that sounds MEAN!!!!

pretty clean install too, looks pretty good - hard to think it's a corolla intake on this 160HP puppy though - isn't that taking a step backwards? I wouldn't know though, looks like a nice little short-ram you made yourself there

did you also try to plug the resonator and take out the lower patch on the front bumper on the intake side?

would improve airflow.

nice job.
i never knew my tc could sound like that in the stock video. i havent been listening hard to it
edit: do you have the trd exhaust?

Hehe. If I get bored, I'll stick a K&N cone filter from a HEMI there - that would be a step forward ;)

Good idea but I would be willing to bet it performs worse than the stock intake. The stock one is a cold air intake of sorts drawing cold air in from the the fenderwell. This intake is drawing hot air from the engine bay into the engine.. definetly not a good thing in terms of performance.

The resonator gets plugged up tomorrow when I'm closer to the home depot. I used to have the plug there, then took it out and lost...

As for exhaust - no. All bone stock ;)

We'll see about that when I get my hands on an OBDII tool and measure intake temps with both stock airbox and this thing. Lucky for me it takes 2 minutes to put back to stock.

Nice man. Sounds really good. I'm gonna wait for Injen or AEM to come out with their intakes. That's crazy that you get that sound from a bone stock exhaust. I can't wait to hear my TRD exhaust equipped tC with a CAI.

wouldnt know cuz i bet his new filter has a lot better airflow than the stock one did..this is just like any other short ram which has the air filter sitting in that area of the engine bay.

That is funny-

I really wonder if that helps you in any way-

Do you think a new filter on the original intake would help more?

Very creative

Sounds very very nice. I cannot wait until sound clips come out for the supercharger.

That was the plan - the new cone filter has 2x the filtering area of the stock / TRD drop in filter, so there is a good chance that airflow is increased. Otherwise you can mark all of the short rams on the market as a waste of money.

Looks and sounds nice man!! I wanna do it but Im gonna wait til the Injen intake comes out..Im more of a performance guy and I dont think your even getting 1-2 HP with that thing..

Hopefully the Injen CAI will add about 7-10 HP.

Granted you only paid 50.00 Thats a plus!!

Again, this"thing" is like every other short ram - and on average short rams are 1-2 hp behind CAIs (see AEM site for dynos of their SR vs CAI). So I'd rather keep the $200 ;)

Also for those that are planning on adding an intake on their tC or even xA, or xB... check out this link. I've got my sponsor prototyping a MAFci Intake System, that should top any other CAI on the market. Holla at cha boy!
