ive been their... if you do go back to buy it, make sure you let him see you then ask for another salesman to sell you the car... lol. he probably wouldnt learn his lesson but it would be fun to screw with him.

i know.... i had a similar thing happen to me. i'm at the market and i'm checking out and the clerk is scanning the bacon, the eggs, the milk, the orange juice and a bunch of tv dinners, and she goes, "single, eh?"

so i go, "what's with that? is it because i bought a bunch of tv dinners you assume i must be single?"

she goes, "no, it's because you're ugly."

Try shopping for homes when your 28, on your second home and have XX G's for a down payment. They don't know crap, but as soon as you tell them how much you got they bend over backwards to serve you.

Hate people who think just because you are young, you can't possibly be successful, have money, or know a damn thing about anything.

i would kindly show him you are capable of purchasing, then ask him a bunch of stupid questions, get a test drive, and keep on putting off the close of the sale. Then tell his sales manager you want it (if you do) but don't want to buy it from him.

-- When I went in to buy my TC the dealer did the "used car" assumption w/ me 2. And when I asked him to take a test drive he said "sorry, i dont have any automatics." I was like WTF -- who said I wanted an auto? I drove 45 miles to another city in order to get mine since the first guy was a *****!

i herd a story about a guy i know that was just becomming a salesmen at a ford dealership. Hes standing on the steps waiting his turn to chase after the people walking around the lot, and all the salesmen pass up on there turn, to give it to him because this guys got one kid on his hip another holding his hand, and one trailing behind. The guy was wearing torn up sneekers, staind white shirt, and holy blue jeans, he started walking up to the guy, and the first thing he said was i want a new t-bird (which are expensive in a sense of what they are), and im paying cash, i want it fully loaded. The other sales reps couldn't believe it, and he got a stinking fat commision. lmao fricken salesmen, oh well i hope mine dont act like idiots when i go to get mine, ill leave and buy from a different dealership, and then take it to the one closest to my house for maintance if they let you do that. lol

12k down wouldn't require a lot of credit. you'd take teh hit if you defaulted on the loan. heck, i'll finance a tC with 12k down.

j/k

I always have similar problems. I'm 23, and I look 15. I just bought a new Powerbook and accessories at the Apple Store at a particularly 'Ritzy' mall out here in Orange County.

I couldn't get a single salesperson to pay any attention to me. I was in an empty store for an hour and a half with no help, just salespeople watching me like I was going to steal something.

I finally just began grabbing stuff off the shelves and stacking it on the counter.

Hundreds of dollars of stuff stacked on the counter later, I finally got someone to bring a Powerbook out from the back room for me.

I ended up with 2700.00 of merchandise and the most helpful salespeople I've ever seen...

well, how I did it was put a lot down so my monthly would be low. I could've bought the car free and clear, but I wanted to build my credit.

I once got asked to leave a Honda dealership in KC, MO because the real customers come in at 5:00 and we were wasting the salesman's time. What the salesman didn't know was that I had 15k in my bank account and was ready to write a check for the used Civic Si I was looking at. I took my money elsewhere and came back 3 hours later with a new(to me) car and made sure the lot sales manager got an earful.

See.. you should have gone to the manager and complain about their attitude and demand a different salesman and something in return. Going to a different dealership wont do you any good. If you dont complain then there is no problem right?

Please don't lump us all in together. That guy was an idiot.

I bet the dealer you were at allows everyone/anyone to sell Scions.

Sorry for the way you got treated. Glad you're getting your car!
