Default Dealer really screwed up [update]

Well my car had some hydrolock problems last Monday.
I made a claim with my insurance.
Dealer was to do repiars. Mechanic told me 2 weeks for everthing to be done.
I said it was ok.
Well the car was done in about 6 working days. (pretty fast)
Found out why as soon as I opened the hood.

Opened the hood and there was a white wire coming out of the alternator harness.
I thought right away and told the person who was working with me.
They got it fixed quick with no problem {it really wasnt anything big but I figured they would put stuff back the way it was}
On the way home my phone needed charging. So I tried to charge it using my cig lighter. Didnt work. So I tried the port in the arm rest, didnt work either. WTF??

Got home and took the shifter part off and nothing was connected to the cig lighter!!
I tried to find the wire but it was no where to be seen. I looked and grabed alot of wires but none were the plug. I finally found part of the wire.....the part that plugs into the cig lighter was under the passenger seat. I had to remove the seat to have access to the wire.
by this time I was MAD[/i][u]
How could the dealer miss these things?
Thats not the end.
I was about to rotate my tires, but they took the wheel lock key

That was enough for me. i also noticed they did not connect some grocery hooks in the back, and the little "shock" for the glove box was not connected.

STILL MORE The gas cap cover opener thing was not bolted in/down.

Tomorow moring im going to chew some as

Good. Make them realize they have idiots working for them that care about getting paid for a 60 hour job, and only spending 30 hours on your car. short cuts dont cut it.

hey man, considering they fixed your engine with no problem, i would have an easy time overlooking these small things.

You will always catch more bees with honey than vinegar, see if you can get something free out of the deal lol

What the heck were you doing driving in 3-4 ft of water?

You're lucky your dealership did what they did. They could have been a#$holes and told you, "No way.". But like quietthings said, be glad they fixed the major problem.

Thats why I hate having anything done by the dealer. They charge you an arm and a leg and they have 18 yr. old kids doing all the repairs. (I know this cuz a few of my friends are ford or gm mechanics) and I found out that they are actually still in school when they are working on cars! WTH! thats why I will never take my car to a dealer, either do the work my self or have a well known shop with a good rep. work on my car

Last week it rained all day sunday and all monday morning.
Well monday morning I was going to work and the road I take was flooded. Yeah I know people will call me stupid and what not for driving in the heavy rain, but I had to get to work.
Also the area that I was in usually doenst flood . and by the time I saw the water it was to late. I live in an extremly rural area with no lights on the roads.

The dealer did me no favor in fixing the car. I made a claim with the insuramce

Sucks to hear that everything was not checked more thoroughly before they gave you the car back. Im sure they will take care of it for you.

Well the dealer fixed everything without A problem.

I have my wheel lock back, which was my main concern.

I just hate that the dealer is about 30 miles from my house

that sucks man, I sit around any shop before I take my car in and make sure they do a decent job. I cant stand a mechanic that wont take to the time to reconnect everything right. Glad to hear you got everything fixed though.
