I guess that looks pretty cool, and I'm into it, but I'm interested in someone making a high quality HID retrofit - I don't care enough about the demon eyes to change from stock. I kinda like the stock halogens - if I change, it would be for GOOD HIDs.

demon eyes? would that be like angel eyes just with a orange/red ring?
i would definitly be intrested if it looked good and was fairly cheap. I was driving home from school yesterday and looked in my rearview mirror and the guy behind me in a bmw had them and they looked so good.

Demon Eyes don't even mean changed color - same color as angel eyes. Take a look at the examples on the page. They look good, definitely, but it's just for show it seems. I want HID. They look good and they DO something.

Man I wish Scion had just offered it as an option. From the factory I probably would have paid like... I dunno... maybe 600-800? Seriously folks...

No - with an HID setup (a real one), you have a round projector inside the headlight housing. The housing can be whatever shape you want it to. Someone just has to make the right parts.

Uh huh...so what do you call the lighting upgrades that are available on the Pruis, Sienna, ES330, Mini Cooper, Altima, G35 Accord and many other cars without projectors? "Fake" HID?

The type of reflector has nothing to do with whether or not a lighting system is HID.

I recently emailed Umnitza and got this reply... "I agree, we're in negotiations with Scion directly to do it." "It" meaning "make some angel eyes for the Scion tC."

It has everything to do with whether or not it is HID. HID reflectors are completely different than halogen reflectors.

When did I ever say anything about halogen? I was talking about cars that are available with HID from the factory. Not some ebay kit, or an aftermarket headlight assembly.

Regardless whether or not the factory car has projectors or parabolic reflectors, if you bought it with HID off the new car lot, chances are nearly 100% that the light source is DOT-legal High Intensity Discharge; regulated by a housing designed specifically for that source. Simple as that.

Even if you think it is a less effective way of managing the light, it is still HID. If it isn't, I want you to e-mail Toyota, BMW, Subaru and Nissan and tell them to stop selling "HID" on their projectorless cars.
