Default Dented Trunk/Hatch. Any help is appreciated.

Hey everyone! First off I've been a Scionlife lurker for about 3 months and had my 2006 BCP Scion tC for about a month and a half now.

*Sigh* Ok where to begin. Wednesday after work I wasn't feeling to good so after work I went to pick my girlfriend up from work (normal routine) and I told her to drive home because i wasn't feeling too good. She is a very safe driver and for the year she has been driving she has never gotten into any accidents.

So we make it all the way home no problems and she started to park she decided to park backwards ( I guess because I always park backwards ). And needless to say she got a little to close to a tree and this happened....

Took the picture with my RAZR so it's crappy I know.

I'm not mad at her though because we all make mistakes.

Went to the dealer Thurs. to get an estimate. $750 for a BONDO job. WOW, lol! Is there anything else I could do? Could I cover it up with a wing/spolier (Viniati V Style Spolier)? Should I just get a CF trunk ($500)? I'm really trying to aviod claming it on the insurance because I pay $205 for full coverage and don't want it to raise, plus my deductible is $500.

Any ideas?

Ouch...now the best place for that!
Personally it looks to me like a spoiler may not cover it up real well.

I would agree with paul34, shop around for the best price, bear the cost and wag your finger at your girlfriend and say 'bad'.
Course I was the one that ran into a horshoe pit and needed a new fender...

Accidents like this are the worst because its just that...an accident.

That really sucks. I bumped a tree last summer when backing up a long drive way and had to replace my bumper. My windows were so tinted I couldn't see anything when it was slightly dark. I have since installed a backup camera and 5" monitor in my mirror.
Good luck.

Thanks for the replies guys. Im thinking about getting a carbon fiber hatch now. Kills two birds with one stone (Gets rid of the dent, makes the car look better). Take a look -> http://www.zeropointindustries.net/s...roducts_id=112. What do you think?

I'll most likely get a CF hood later to match.

Anybody else got any ideas out there?

P.S. - Anyone know how much a body shop would charge me to install a hatch?
