Default Descendant Turbo Automatic tC Update!!

We just had one of our Automatic Turbo tC come in for a check up and to install a New Mishimoto combo kit.(Mishimoto Performance Aluminum ,Universal Transmission cooler, racing thermostat, silicone hose kits, aluminum fan shroud). The car runs great with the Mishimoto combo kit. He's had the car for year with the Decendant turbo kit. At 8 psi it made 250 all day long with no trans slipping. If you automatic people have any questions out there. Post a PM or give us a call at WORLD-RACING.

From your experiences is there a best place to mount the transmission oil cooler?

I still haven't gotten around to installing mine (in college with no tools D: ) I do have brackets made for mine that puts it directly in front of the radiator towards the front bumper of the car and on the driver side.

Is there an "optimal" placement?

i put mine infront of the radiator by the driver side headlight since i have the oem radiator

World-Racing- it looks like you guys removed the hard lines from the transmission right? if so, did you cut them close to the transmission to adapt the new hoses for the cooler or use some sort of plugs/adapters to connect it onto the transmission?

anyway you could post a DIY for that tranny cooler install? I've been looking for one but never really found any help on the install such as placement and removing the old hard lines for new ones.

How long do you plan on driving your car prior to installing the turbo kit? That would play a big factor on which parts you buy now and which ones you buy after the installation.

The header wouldn't be considered a supporting mod because you would be removing it as soon as you installed the turbo kit. The turbo kit uses a custom exhaust manifold.

The Descendant Cold Air Intake system wouldn't be considered a supporting item either, however it's an easy sell and will give you some decent power combined with the exhaust. It comes in WRINKLE BLACK and POLISHED

Our Descendant 2.5" Stainless Steel Exhaust is a supporting mod that you can use with an NA or FI setup. This part is in stock.

Last but not least is the Descendant 2.5" S-Pipe, which makes the exhaust system a complete catback system. This item is also compatible with the Descendant Turbo Kit

Let us know if you have any questions!

Is there a reason this guy's auto tranny is holding up so well? Most forums have the stigma that all auto turbo setups are terrible and will break in no time. I want no more than 250hp on my first gen auto and this thread gives me hope for a turbo kit.

We have turbocharged about ten (automatic) first generation tC and 2008+ xB's (in house) and experienced multiple scenarios.

In most situations it really depends on the driving style of the owner. If you let off the throttle when shifting it is going to put a lot less wear and abuse on your gearbox and if you drive it like you stole it, chances are that you might have some problems.

We had a customer who had his for turbo kit less than three months and started having an issue with his xB gearbox slipping, however it wasn't proven to be directly connected to rough driving. He bought a used automatic trans and since he's had no issues. He is running 9.5lbs. of boost and makes 289hp/275tq

I know of three or four making 275/270 that drive them daily, no issues.

As a precaution install an external transmission cooler.
