yea i went to the toyota dealership and the price in their database was 199.99 he said that there is no way that they can do 99.99 since the price that they pay is 139 for the springs and he did show this to me. im not lettin my hopes die yet tho im going to another dealer tomorrow. so has anyone really gotten a set at this price? if so let me kno i want a set i can pay for shipping maybe if its still cheaper then the trd sparks or mcgeorges price.

i don't these are the shocks for the suspension. If you look it says shock abso. Not strut or shock towers. Also if you look at the part number and compare them with the part number on mcgeorge or trdsparks they are different. I think these shock abso. are the things on the trunk maybe. Its just a guess. Also the part number is different for the springs. I just noticed that. Hmm. This is very confusing.

I just talked to my dealer here in Lubbock, Texas (it's the only one unfortunately) and he said the prices are correct and he would order them for me this afternoon, BUT he said he must charge a 100% markup because he could not sell something at cost. "We gotta make money somehow," he said. So the prices including the markup for the $60 sway bar is $120. Same with the springs-$200 and shocks-$134. He then tried to tell me to just order it from the trdusa.com website if I wanted to get it at cost. After about 15 minutes of arguing, I got tired of him and decided it wasn't worth the hassle. Does anyone know if the markup is mandatory or is he just throwing me some BS?

The shocks for $134 is still a good deal... And dealerships don't buy TRD parts at the prices shown on the TRD website.

Funny that he would tell you that, since he know's you can't order directly from the TRD website. At least that's what I understand. And if anyone know's how you can let me know!

I just think the parts guy out doesn't know what he's talking about. Last week, I asked him about the supercharger and he said he didn't know anything about it. Hopefully, I can at least get the shocks because even with his "markup," it would be a great deal.

called 3 different toyota dealerships, all quoted me $199 for the springs. the last guy i just got off the phone with said that toyota just bought out TRD, because TRD use to be their own entity. Seems as if the part number listed at trdusa.com isn't a commonly used part number either.

Heck I can top you all...get your reading glasses out. So I called up Huntington Beach Toyota/Scion to ask if I could get those prices on TRD's website. The part guy looks at the website says that it seems really low but if that is what they have on teh website then yes I can give you that price. I asked twice just to make sure and I even told him that it seems really low and that is why I am calling. He said yes I can give you that price both times. So I drive down and get there an hour later. He looks at me straight faced and says I can't give you that price. I said "WHAT?" Apparently he called TRD AFTER HE GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH ME. He tells me that the website was hacked and that he can give me everything for full price. Now I knew full well that the website was hacked but if I could get them to give the price then great. I was like so let me get this straight, you know it seems wrong but you offer me the price twice and then after we get off the phone you call TRD. He tells me "well I guess I should have called while I had you on the phone but its not my fault." By this time I am a little mad. I ask him how exactly is it not his fault? Well TRD got the price wrong so its not my fault. I told him that if I am buying the parts through you guys and you tell me that I can have the price twice that it is his fault. So I talk to his manager who tells me the same thing "I'm sorry but its not our fault" I talk to the service dept. manager who wont even come out to talk to me but sends one of his flunkies to tell me the same thing. I call the general manager of the entire dealership today and he tells me the same thing. "I am sorry but its not our fault. But I don't want you to be unhappy." So what is the best that they can do for me. "Well we will give it to your for our cost." Which apparently is $499.99 for the shock set. Now after all of this do you really think that I am gonna believe that they make only $50-$75 on this shock set. C'mon guys, this is a textbook example of terrible customer service. I came in expecting $67 and was told $550 when I get there. Their explanation "well don't you think it sounded a little too good to be true?" Yes, that is why I asked TWICE. Who offers a price like that without checking? A dealership with NO ETHICS at all. Lets not forget that they were rude and short with me and the General Manager had the nerve to chuckle at me on the phone. I am so ____ed off right now I can't see straight.

So how many people got what at the "sale" price?

Whoever got something should have bought a few sets of each and sold through EBay.

Although, I don't see how anyone can legitimately know that the prices are incorrect and ask for that price and get angry that the sales person did not know that the price changed.

If one didn't know the prices were hacked then sure, it'd be right to go down and try to buy them at the price. Of course, the seller would have rejected the buyer anyways...

But although the dealer is normally the badguy, it simply wouldn't be fair to ask them to sell something at a huge lost of profit.

Went to my local Toyota dealer yesterday as it's only about a mile from here, asked the guy in the parts dept. about the prices on the springs and struts. He did indeed first check the website in order to get the product numbers, but then when he switched over into his DOS-esque ordering screen and put in the number for the struts, they still came up as being $550. I can only imagine that this type of ordering system is commonplace around the country, so even though the prices are different on the website, the dealer still has to rely on what price comes up in their system. Sorry guys, but ya ain't getting new suspenion parts on the cheap. :?
