Do I call for Vin# to insure it before it arrives at dealer?

Default Do I call for Vin# to insure it before it arrives at dealer?

I need to know cause I have geico on my old car and want to add teh scion before it gets to the dealer cause I dont wanna buy the car and then have to wait for the papers to get to me the next day or something. Is it possible my salesman has the VIN # before it arrives there?? Help...

my dealership was able to get me the vin number when it hit the port in portland. request a vin number from your dealership.

i called my insurance on the spot at the dealership during the paperworks.

woohoo i got the Vin# yay... the guy said it arrived at the port either today or yesterday and that usually a few days after.. it gets there.. and he said we'll have it middle of next week or end of next week. im like ummm thats not a few days haha.. idiot.. shoudl be this week right guys???I guess i wont insure it until the day i go buy it right?

yes, wait until you go pick up the car, It os pointless to insured a car you are not even driving just yet.

Geico is normally pretty good, the paperwork would take about 5 minutes and they'll fax an id card to the dealer.

Its weird. today i called with MY tc's vin number and the quotes were coming about about 50 bucks more than a vin number i gave them of a tc that was in a dealer. Why is that. That sucks. they are the same model number and everything. WHy is MINE more expensive..helppppp

are the specs the same for both cars?? (side air bags, security system????)

being a new car, the insurance companies will modify the reates when the start to get claims and realize the damage / costs....
how is your driving record, maybe they found something there too.

If you (or your parents) already have car insurance, most companies give you a 14- to 30-day grace period to sign up for insurance for a new car. Just don't forget to call them asap.
