Default Does anyone have the factory Scion Security System?

How does it actually work? I've tried everything to see if it will go off and so far the only way it goes off is when I forget to lock the door and open it again after like a minute or so. Can this security system make any type of sound to insure that it's activated? I read the manual that came with it and I don't see anything. Any help will be much appreciated.

no it doesn't make a reassuring chirp or honk to let you know its on.
i dont like that about it but it works.
it turns on like a minute or so after you lock the door with the Key Fob
and there are custom wiring you can do to get it to honk or beep yourself.

Mine came already installed on the car, and it does beep.

Mine honks once when you arm it (lock) and then twice when you disarm it (unlock). You should take it back to the dealer and have them install it right.
I hate it either way though. Big waste of money. It does a lot of other stupid things to like locking the door when you start the car so that you just have to unlock it again if all your passengers arn't in yet. Also it turns the headlights on when you unlock it... pretty worthless. I can rock my car side to side from the outside and the dam thing will never go off because it is a shock sensor. It takes two shocks to set the actual alarm off so I'm pretty sure breaking a window will just make it chirp (4 short honks).
The only good thing is the kill switch it supposedly has but I don't know how that works.

soros, post vid? i've never had my beep or make any other noise.
I've been able to set it off by having someone get locked inside and open the door after a minute or so. Lights flashing and horn honking until I press one of the buttons on the fob. i don't remember which button i pressed, though.

soros and citizen, you guys must have gotten an aftermarket alarm that the dealer installed cause that is not what the Scion branded tC alarm does. mine is installed right.

i think the only Scion alarm that beeps is the one they use for the xA. i dont remember the xB alarm beeping

tC alarms dont honk at all. thats why i rewired mine to honk my horn when it activates. Haha. But on a further note, if u want to make ur car more sensitive u can change the setting. Mine is set to about 9 of 11, so with a small tap on the glass, it alarms.

It does not "beep" It is somehow linked to the horn and it does a short honk. I wish it did beep instead of the pansy honk we have. And legally could the dealership install something other than Scion Security? I don't think so.

yes they can install whatever alarm they want. just like they can install whatever extras on the car they want and sell it, its the same for alarms. the scions dont come with an alarm as a standard so the dealer isn't limited to only installing the alarm Scion has.

beep or honk the Scion branded tC alarm does neither. unless you custom wire it up to do so.

Our 07 honks once when you arm it, and twice when you unarm it. Factory alarm. And the Panic buttom sets it off super loud.

edit: Damn the audio doesn't work, is there a better place I can upload the video from my computer? Its a video I took with my phone.

please if there ever was a mod around here that could be proved wrong.
and not care about being wrong

just cause about everything i have found, expirienced and have been told about the tC Scion alarm makes no noise unless its set off.

but if they did change it and the stock alarm now honks then i want one of those.

i thought i had a picture of the Scion Security indicator that takes up one of the switch blanks but i guess not. i would think that if you dont have this then you dont have the Scion alarm.

If you don't have this guy:

You don't have Scion Security. You have a dealer installed aftermarket alarm.

If your horn chirps on arm/disarm, you don't have Scion Security. You have a dealer installed aftermarket alarm.
