Does Scion really exist ...

as a separate division of Toyota? I ask because my NY state registration says Toyota on it. What does yours say?

its a figment of your imagination dude!

Scion is a division of Toyota just like Lexus is
and Acura is a division of Honda etc etc

yeah.. insurance companies are dumb.. and dmv stuff hasn't really caught up yet..

wonder if Geico still has the tC listed as the Chrysler TC (that was designed way back then by Maserati.... i know some insurance companies have yet to update their system...)

Mine is also listed as a Toyota Scion. My question is: Are the xA and xB also registered as the same. If so, insurance rates for all three should be the same. Right?

No, they shouldn't be the same.

Mine is a Toyota Scion Compact Station Wagon with a 1.5L engine...

i wonder if classifying it as a toyota is actually cheaper than if they changed it to scion. and yes, my registration says toyota scion as well.

And mine is a Toyota Scion Sports Coupe with a 2.4L engine and my insurance rate definitely reflects that.

hum.... well, do Lexuses get their own classification for insurance and loans, or are they coded as Toyota? I bet Toyota made sure at least Lexus was "separate" just for peace of mind of their wealthy owners, but it probably doesn't "matter" with Scion.

Both my registration and insurance (Progressive) say Make – Toyota, Model – Scion TC. I don’t think insurance companies really care what it’s called (Scion vs. Toyota), they mainly focus on the vehicle (price, engine, safety, etc...)
