Default Does your tC sounds like is leaking air during accerlaration

I got my car 2 weeks ago after waiting since Nov or 2004. I love the car but I the following question. Does your tC sounds like is leaking air during accerlaration? It is happening to mine. It's kind of cool but I don't know if it is a problem or it is normal.

its probably your air intake, it should sound like a Cold air intake, mostly when its cold outside and/or higer RPMs

Yep... hissing noise. It's the intake. I think they did it on purpose. Frankly, I had an intake on my integra, and I *wish* it had sounded like that. The reason i'm so hesitant to put one on the tC is because the last one I had made a really horrible noise right in the middle of the RPM band.

I owned a hyundia elantra, so i'm new to the tuner thingy

I was just wondering if the stock intake is just a plastic cai. and if it is, could i just change the air filter for a better one and still get the same affect as a aftermarket cai?

I would like to get the eam cai, but just tryin to see if I could save a couple hundred.

the sound you are hearing is the anti-resonnator on the intake sucking air in. its all very normal and i have found that it also makes people think u got a BOV and are turbo'ed. its great fun, and as per yer question daviking, no the stock air box is not like a CIA. but a hi-flo filter can improve performance. rock on jack!

yeah.......if you notice though....the stock air box does draw air from the fender well....but it'll be better if you get an aftermarket intake.....
