Don't cops have anything better to do?
(Taken from Super Street, July 200
Nine police angencies in Riverside, CA raided a gathering of local sport compact tuners at the Canyon Crossings shopping center around 11 p.m. back on Friday, March 29.
With no cars actually racing, more than 100 cops surrounded the group of enthusiasts and began warrantless searches and interrogating the owners of the approximate 150 cars present. Most were issued tickets ranging from "modified engine" violations to not having a front license plate (a requirement in California). About twenty unlucky souls had their vehicles confiscated, which will likely end up being auctioned or demolished. For those living in the Inland Empire (909) area, the Riverside Police Department received $503,268 in gas tax funds for the creation of a special task force for selective enforcement targeting street racing and modified vehicles.
(end)
this is ridicoulous. a task force to target street racing: ok,
but one to target "modified vehicles"?
Rant: living in Wisconsin, the harley davidson central, there are alot of motorcycles here. They are loud as F*** too. It's so annoying that they can be that loud and my friends get pulled over for being probably 3/4 as loud as those motorcycles.
I don't know how, but something has to change. There are way too many haters.

Funny part is the factory Scion tint on the windows is 68%. So we're already breaking the law.
You need to understand this, ITS THEIR JOBS!
Not to mention in California if you have different wheels on a car thats reasonable doubt to search the car for modifications. Modifications in california are so STRICTLY regulated that a simple exhaust is nearly illegal.
Front plate tickets are as simple as looking, no arguing this.
And the CHP have a special division for street racing that also is trained in modified cars.
And motorcycles are allowed to have loud exhausts because 1) Its not impossible but it can be difficult to regulate their emissions/noise levels. 2)Some will argue its a safety item.
None the less, if you don't like the rules, don't play the game.

I guess what I'm trying to convey is that if they're going to pull over a tC, they also need to pull over these luxury rides I see up and down the state with no front plates as well. Seems like the poe-leese are 'profiling' who they pull over. I think that is wrong.
So they'll pull over tuners like us who's exhausts are no where near as loud as some Lamborghinis and Ferraris? They're targeting us just because we like to be different! Lame! As much as I love living in Cali, the laws suck. But if you play the game, you gotta pay the price I guess.
