you will have to lay upside down on your driver seat.. there is a rubber stopper that has most of the cabin wires coming in from the engine by. slice a cut in it and run your wires through with a cloths hanger. its pretty easy ..

yeah simple, just find the rubber grommet under the driver's side and then punch a hole with a scissor (might take some force) and do that hanger technique lol.. or there is also another one behind the ecu

Route the battery lead as far away from your RCA's though to prevent alternator whine in your system.

I recommend a steak knife to make the hole in the grommet. The sharp side will easily cut the rubber, and the dull side will keep from cutting the harness already in the grommet. If you cut that you're going to have a nightmare, so take your time.
Good luck. The tC is like legos, so a system is easy.

That tC has about 15 "lego" parts that made the whole job easier...

Took 2 hours to do the whole thing. Have fun!

All i can say too make the job ALOT easier is unscrew the driver's side door-ajar sensor from the body (uses a star-shaped head, vs. a flat or phillips head). No annoying BEEP BEEP BEEP sound to drive you flippin crazy.

Also, if you feel really daring, install interior LED's at the same time to cut back on doing more work down the line.

ADV. Auto Parts sell singular LEDs in packs of 4 (Red, Blue, Green, and White) @ 8.88$ per package. 25' of speaker wire (wire that is identifiable between ground wire and power wire), is like 6.65$. Super glue to hold it in was about 4.50$ for a package of 2 small applicators. Youll only need 1. And the Quick Splice connectors were i think 4$-5$ for a box of 25. All in all, i spent around 45$ and did the install myself (using the awesome TECH section here on SL) to DIY.

Sorry, went off topic... For the Power Wire, just make sure you have PLENTY of wire... its a b!tch and a half to realize you cut the wire (rather, your friend who's helping you) cut the wire 1ft too short.....

Cant tell you how much money was lost on that..

It's highly recommended that you disconnect your car's battery before doing any kind of electrical work. So the ding shouldn't be there anyhow.

Yeah, running that power wire through the firewall via that big rubber grommet was a pain. I didn't cut it cause it seemed kind of risky, so I kind of pulled the side of the grommet and somehow got the 4gauge wire in, after that it was pretty easy cause the wire was so beefy all I had to do is feed it through.

Also like someone said earlier, when you're running your RCA wires, run it down the passenger side, away from the power wires (which you should have ran down the drivers side) so that you don't get that annoying whining noise when driving.

Pretty simple, took me about 2 hours to wire everything.

could someone detail to me what the clothes hanger technique entails? I am currently trying to figure out how to get the power wire into the engine bay.

There is a grommet on the fire wall on the drivers side right next to the brake resivour......it has blak tape wrapped around the end......remove the tape.....

Take drivers seat out so you do not need to be a circus act trying to reach under the dash and remove the tape from the inside of the car onthe grommet as well.....that is the toughest part.......

tape coat hanger to the power wire......if it is 4 gauge you will have plenty of room ........if it is 0 guage be prepared to work hard to get it through......took me half an hour,....a pair of hemostats......2 beers......1 smoke......and my wife pushing the wire form out side.........

b e sure to disconnect the battery as well before starting.....

run the power wire under the carpet next to the door.....but not inthe wire loom already in the door track.....run it along the floor......also not down the middle of the car......use that area to get your RCAs through......keep power and signal wires away from each other or your stereo will sound bad....
