3 days ago cold air intake swallowed some water. oil isn't a frothy mess. after 3 hours driving today on vacation engine operating temperature dropped. fluctuated multiple times only went down not up. down to the second line on 2 occasions. turning off car helps and dip stick told me to add quart of oil. that seemed to help but only temporary. anti freeze level fine oil level is still fine. seems to run fine too but didn't want to push it too much at all. pressure leak somewhere? flush fill anti freeze? oil change before I leave vacation for sure

 

Are you 100% positive it swallowed water? How much water? Intake taking in water won't effect your engine temps days later.

 

it was the only thing negative that had happened to my car and since it was just a couple days before I wasn't sure. it struggled and would have stalled but I shut off the engine and let it sit and drain for half a day then it seemed fine since. my fender well wasn't in when it happened so it had to be the water.
