Default Factory Subwoofer or no?

Should I even bother buying the sub from the factory?

I don't want my trunk to be a huge sub, I actually plan on using it. And I like how the sub from Scion fits nicely into the side. Any advice?

i think if you were to put a different sub in there that can handle a bit more power then it wouldnt be too bad, however i dont know the price on it sooo?

Save your money. There's plenty of stealth setups available, the most common around here is the SQ10 and it's tC-designed box on www.edesignaudio.com .

I like the stock setup...the warranty...but mainly the fact that I don't have to mess with all that garbage anymore...I am tired of the MONSTER custom setups...the factory is AWESOME for rock, pop, country, dance...pretty much everything but hip-hop/rap in which it IS decent for the money...check one out somewhere before you buy...

i have to disagree with bluetc....factory is no good, but switching up the front speakers will help tremendously. as far as the sub, factory sucks. go with elemental designs like i did. same link as zeb posted. they've got a tight setup.

Id say save that money and get an aftermarket sub/amp. you could easily get a nice 10" sub and have plenty of bass if youre thinking about the factory sub

i bought a factory sub off of ebay for under half of the price... i personally agree with you, not that i don't know what i'm doing with cars, i just didn't want to put a lot of work into this... i went crazy on my last car, i wanted the tc to remain simple... so if you're looking for a little bit of bass and can find one on ebay or somewhere else, i think it's great. but i WOULD NOT buy it from toyota.... WAY TO EXPENSIVE

i think the scion sub is worth it. some people hate the tc sound system and the sub, but you know, it really isnt bad. and then when its "upgraded" by the people who gripe about it, all it becomes is super loud. this is "cool" i guess.

so i say scion sub. try mcgeorge.com

Word.

I didn't need or want a ton of bass. I didn't want to bother piecing together a system. I didn't want to lose trunk space.

The stock sound system really isn't horrible like a lot of people make it out to be. I've said it before, it's not super loud, but it is really clear. I'd rather have great sound quality than just a really loud system.

If you aren't planning on upgrading the whole system, the Bazooka is a good choice as it compliments the other components well.

I bought a factory bazooka sub off of ebay for $120 shipped. It came with a wiring harness and everything. Installation is quick and easy. So why not?

Do what you want and what works for you. Everyone has their own opinion. But if you are going to get the factory find a better source for it. Its a bit spendy for what it is.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm a hockey player so i need that trunk space.. granted some of the setups i've seen in trunks look really nice. I dont listen to rap, i hardly use the bass but i want it there in case i get the mood for some techno or you know... gangsta rap woop woop!

So seems like i can save the 400+ and just buy the sub off ebay or get a 10 inch off eD that will fit like the factory sub.

Thanks again guys.

Nah, the SQ10 box replaces the foam vs. the bazooka box plugging into the side...you lose 0 trunk

Unless you're talking about the RS2.0 sub...but I dunno if you can find that...
