Does the ticking sound change when you turn the fan up or down? Maybe you have some leaves or other debris in the housing? It happens. Pull the air filter and check the wiper cowl where the outside air comes in. I always get pine needles, somehow they wiggle there way in there.

Yea as i turn the fan up it gets faster.
I took the air filter out, banged the loose dirt out of it (replacing it this weekend). I then went ahead and put my hand in the housing (as best i could) to feel for any debris which there was none that i could feel. Today i went to the store , turned the AC on and now the ticking is gone. Not sure what it was.
