Default "special" 18's

these are the darker colored rims, correct? Does any one know if you can get these darker rims on any other color? Thanks!

i don't know if the darker color rims are available for any other color. But, I was told when I picked up my RS 1.0 (April 2 that the darker rims are only available as original equipment on the RS. As for the other stuff, I think the value in the package is certainly there. The grill, wheels and tires, paint, sills, mats and interior are collectively worth much more than the $1775 price ag as options. Also, I like having a tC that is a little different (though I like all of the others as well).

I didn't keep the interior, though the color and fabric was nice, because I like leather/suede interiors. So, mine is now dark graphite leather with suede centers and res stitching. Also, I've tinted the windows (35% frt doors, 05 rr quarters and hatch), which looks great on the red car. Hotckis anti-sway bars and springs go in next Thurs along with CC short shifter when it arrives.

All-in-all, I think the tC is an awesome value, and I'm really happy with the RS.

Default Wheel Locks...

Does anyone know if you can get wheel locks for the RS 1.0 in the graphite finish? I don't want them to get jacked and I don't want anything to clash...

dealership up here in Vermont has two tC RS 1.0 automatics. they look so good. i am definately looking into one. but a regular tC in Indigo Ink Pearl is so tempting.

I just got one last Monday!! I actually seet out to order a black one, but the dealership made a pretty good deal for the R1.0, and I'm glad I took it.

For those of you interested in value, you have to remember that you're also paying for the red paint. You can't get this color on a stock TC. I'm not usually wild about red cars, but the TC looks pretty sweet in red. And if you do add up the 'options' they give you, it does end up being a pretty good deal. Heck, the 18inch rim package ALONE on a stock Scion costs almost as much as the Release package. ON top of that...and I posted this on another Scion forum...the dealer let me walk away with a set of 18 inch rims on the car, and the stock 17 inch rims in the trunk!! I thought it was odd, but I wasn't going to argue about it. I was wondering if anyone else who bought the Release 1.0 got 2 sets of rims also?

So..uh...if anyone needs to buy a set of 17 inch rims for their Scion...I have some for cheap! lol.

Yeah Ken....thats odd to walk away with both sets, if I had the $$ I'd buy them. I got my RS1.0 last week in Irvine, CA. There is a 5 speed now at Toyota of Orange in Orange, CA. I was just there yesterday and saw it on the lot.

I love the thing and kinda wish I had the smaller rims to get longer lasting tires...oh well...I'll just have to wear the 18's out by racing it.

What sold us was the deal on the accessories for cheap! compared to buying separate....I did the math, saving over $400. And I think the door sills are great. It really is a great car. We only had one other option, something rare (I guess)...the extra airbags, which I think is cool.

lol.

Here's the funny thing: Everyone I know thinks it's odd that I got both sets of rims, the 17's and 18's. Even I thought it was odd.

Then a week later...I get stopped by a cop.

Anyway, the cop let me off because it wasn't like I was drag racing or anything...just happened to be doing 60 in a 40mph zone and let me off with a warning. But then he proceeds to start asking about my car and I was answering all his questions, telling him how the 18's were an upgrade. He then told me a story about how he went to a Volkswagen dealer and tried to buy a Jetta with a rim upgrade and said he dropped the deal when the VW dealer wouldn't give him the stock rims too. He then said something that totally made sense: You got a base-model car. Every option added is extra, but not matter what, you start with that base model. So if a base-model, at a base-model price, comew w/ 17inch rims...that should be included. Then you pay for the upgrade. It made a whole lot of sense to me after he said it.

That does make sense....should I go back to the dealership and ask for my 17''s now? Did anyone else get 18''s and 17''s? I wanted the 17" for the winter (just in case I accidently bang up the rims in the snow...

I picked up my RS1.0 3 weeks ago. It looks so awesome! I just got all the windows tinted and painted my break calipers red. I am going to lower it 2.0 inches soon. I'll post pictures! #2484 out of 2500!

I'd rather see the RS 1.0 w/ a lip spoiler or no spoiler! IMO

Does anyone know if you can change the background color of the clock to red, so that way it matches the car and the crimson on the stereo??

I hate double posting, but they wont let you edit.

Anyways, It is weird that they gave you the 17's AND 18's. It doesn't make sense. What the cop said about buying a base and getting upgrades etc... that made sense (kinda) but the RS is exactly that... a Release Series. It never was a base model (not technically speaking) so the 18's aren't an upgrade they are oem on the RS. I still dont see why you got both sets... but more power to you. I guess i cant complain though... since mine came with two tone leather... probably the only in this region like that.
