Default February of 2005 NOW

:? Ok, for those of you that are eagerly anticipating the release of the TRD Supercharger for the tC, well, you are going to have to wait a little longer. I just received an e-mail from Scion saying that the supercharger will now be released in February of 2005. Sorry to keep everyone waiting, but I still think it is going to be worth the wait.

Could you post the email?

Very dissapointing. I bought my car with the thought and promise that it was imminently coming out. Now by the time it comes out my car will have 15.000 miles on it. Will the SC be warranteed an additional 3yr/36K on top of the cars regular warranty?

As of right now, there isn't a price on it. I do know though that it won't be more than $3000.00.

All add on accessories installed by your dealer are warnteed for 12/12,000 or the remainder of your bumper-to-bumper waranty... which ever is longer.

Are you guys sure that TRD will put a warranty on this bad boy? Also did they mention anything about being able to finance the charges in your initial purchase price?

Just wondering... :D

TRD products (muffler, shocks, springs, clutch, and the supercharger) are warrantied by TRD's warranty, which is either a one year/unlimited mile warranty or the remainder of the powertrain warranty (it depends which part you get). Technically its a differant warranty, really only for dealers though; its just differant paperwork on our end. For the customer, it's pretty much the same. I got this from TRDusa.com's website:

TRD Superchargers - Dealer-installed TRD Supercharger systems are warranted by TRD for 12 months or for the remainder of the vehicle's Toyota Powertrain Warranty when installed by a Toyota dealer.

Here's a link to the rest of the TRD warranty page:

My dealer told me that they will not in any way offer financing on the supercharger... I was ____ed cuz I thought I'd be able to finance it! Unless, of course, you finance it at the time you buy a tc, if the supercharger's out then... that's the only way.

I want to wait and see the 0-60 times. How much time do you think it will shave off the current 7.3 0-60 ?

Think about this, the '05 RSX Type-S puts out 210 hp, and it starts at $23,570, the manual tC costs $16,465, add $3000 for the SC and even $1000 for leather (standard on the acura), and you're only at $20,465.

Toyota has been saying that the SC will boost power to 200, but Scion VP Jim Farley himself has said that TRD has been getting 210-225 hp @ the wheels with the SC. We can only assume that they'll tone it down a little so that they can safely warranty the unit, but in the spirit of competition, toyota will probably make the final product the same or better :D than the Type-S

I really hope there's a limited-slip differential out by then. A supercharged tC will really need it.

I hate warranty crap. I wanted to keep the warranty intact, thats why I was going to get the TRD SC. Just gimme the 210-225 at the wheels please, screw my warranty.

Umm... add the TRD Supercharger and that puts the tC right up in Acura RSX territory... I'd rather have the Ac than a tC, sorry.
