Default Finally a solution for the HARD tC armrest...

So, ever since I bought my tC. I couldnt stand the hard center armrest... so I found a solution... Someone in my area will wrap it in a leather-like vinyl and put half an inch of cushion inside. It looks great! If you're interested, it costs $85... plus shipping. If youre interested, let me know.

$85 sounds like a good deal. But I am okay with the stock armrest.

May be interested in doing that once I get leather installed on my seats. Unless they cover that in leather too when you get the seats done.

When I got my leather, they covered the armrest.

They do cover the arm rest in leather. Looks good and feels nice too!

Default Where did you get the leather

Did you get the seats done at the dealer? My dealer did not offer it as an option, but now I see a few offering it for about $1250.00. Did it change the seat comfort?

Yes, I went through the dealer for my leather - the dealer does not do it themselves, they use an aftermarket installer (most dealers do the same). Two advantages to getting it through the dealer: you can add it to the price of the car for financing, and while my car was getting the leather done, I got a loaner car. $1250 is what an autoleathers.com (katzkin) installer charges, so it's definitely not a dealer ripoff there.

I think it makes the seats a bit firmer, because leather doesn't give like fabric does. I like the more "slippy" feel of leather, especially when I'm getting in and out of the car, and it isn't the hassle to clean that cloth can be, if like me you frequently snack in the car.

Yeah, the dealer did use an aftermarket source for the install. Also, try and specify all leather instead of the seating area only. It will cost a little more but it's well worth the extra price.

Default HOLY lord at the price

Take it to a car upholstery shop that looks like a hole in the wall,
I do this with all my consoles and they are wrapped for 20 to 30 dollars
it was 20 bucks in 1995, now its 30 hehe

and not to be racial, but USUALLY mexican americans run these places.
they are not high tech looking but they do the best work with upholstery unless u just love shelling out money to caucasians pretending to give u a good deal,

its a REAL simple process for the pros u know

sorry for the rant
