Fire Hydrant FTL.
First, I apologize for this being so long, but wanted to share my story with all of you. Here is a teaser to get you to read on...
Alright, So I always at the end of the parking lot at work, and it just so happens to be next to a parking space-sized concrete area with a fire hydrant in it. Well, someone was parked in the spot directly behind it in a big Chevy truck. They said they thought the spot behind them was an empty parking spot and backed directly into the hydrant, knocking it over and sending thousands of gallons of water into the air and onto 4 cars, mine getting the worst of it.
My car was FLOODED. About 6" of water were in the front floorboards and the back, flooded the engine bay and my SRI had some water in it. The pressure of the water falling on the car ripped the molding out from around the windshield and the moonroof. The area surrounding the hydrant was filled with gravel and rocks, and the water pelted the rocks into my car and now the car is covered in scratches and literally looks like its been sandblasted. Luckily, I had just put my stock rims and tires back on the day before (due to a flat) because the one next to the hydrant is completely messed up. All the glass in the car needs replaced due to pitting and molding damage, not to mention the entire car needing repainted. The entire car is covered in gravel, and I've always kept it SO clean....
The damage is pretty extensive but the insurance company is unsure if they are going to total it (which I have mixed feelings about). The car is running now and all the water is out of the engine. I got all of the guys information and he has already reported it and his insurance has accepted blame. My friends GTI (the white car to my right) is in almost the same condition.
Again, sorry for the long post but enjoy the video and the few pics I have. Please do not laugh too hard, although I do realize it is kinda funny, it is my baby under there getting ruined!

Have any of you seen the water that comes out of fire hydrants or sprinklers systems. It is not clean, it is water that has been sitting in pipes forever, a sprinkler broke at the target I worked at and the water was coal black

hey man, i am sorry this all happened, but your car is totalled if you have that much water in it. its a flood vehicle at this point and theres no way in hell I would be accepting it back.

wow that really sucks. i hate people that drive oversized trucks with their huge suspension lifts. its totally unnecessary. that truck was probably so high they couldnt even see what was behind the bed.
