That's horrible! Sorry man, hopefully you can hop into a new one soon though.
I wish something like that happened to me though so I could get a new car sooner...

Actually the Fire Hydrants are hooked up straight to the water mains that run through a city. from the looks of the geyser in the video it was probably a 12" main. sprinkler systems on the other had...
good luck with the insurance man best of luck.
Yea, I dont think the rocks and grit were from the water its self. Moreso the ground around the huge hole caused by the hydrant uh, not being there. And the junk was grabbed and tossed up.
If im not mistaken, that water is the same water you would drink, given you didnt have a filtration system for your house.
If I was the dumbarse who tore the hydrant off, i'd just park my pos truck right over the hole so as to not completely fck the surrounding vehicles - just my own.

I got a bit of an update, over $10,000 in damage, waiting to hear officially if its a total loss but my adjuster thinks it is. I guess I should start thinking of what to get next. Suggestions? I like power but dont need something super fast. The car was perfect for me, but a 4 door would be a plus with a baby on the way...
Anyone know how a total loss works? Do they give me the kbb value and then I pay off my loan and keep whats left for a new car?
All in all, a very crappy way to lose a car...

fck the genesis.
Get yourself a 4dr si if you want something alone the lines of a tc only quicker, with 4 doors.
IMO if you want something grown up, look at some mid size sedans.
