Default Freaking Crooks! $13500 my @##

SO I just thought I'd share with everyone my super aggravation with my insurance company. Mt TC was declared a total loss and I've been nogatiating with the claims department of my insurance company for about a week now. So a couple days ago a get some reports in the mail trying to access the value of my car. They accessed it at $13500 which I know is total bs since thats way below book value. So they were using a couple TC's for comparison from some dealer way up in the boonies here in utah. So I began checking tring to figure out why in the world their prices would be so low. After a little aggravation, I decided to run some CARFAX reports. Turns out every car on their lot is a salvage. Many were also reported as having odometer fraud. So I just thought I'd tell everyone be careful with your insurance company. They'll do all they can to try to rip you off!

Trying to. Pulled up some decent ones at the dealers near me and printed the Carfaxes and book values. So I'm going to fight it if it kills me. Can't even get the damn claims represtitive to call me back though. And its United Insurance.

13500? damn my 08 was lil over 18100 and they were only another 600 more than every other year. ya there had to be something wrong with those tc's since everything i've noticed in my stay here in utah is that everything is hella expensive

Get USAA insurance if you can in ANY WAY. They are by far...BY FAR the best in the country....

Also best for banking and loans!

Only stipulation is you have to be a servive member..or a dependant of a service member.

I pay $580 every 6 months for full coverage...and they have NEVER given me static about an accident.

Just trying to help!

Insurance companies NEVER want to pay out. When they have to, they will do whatever it takes to give you pennies.

Gaap insurance is very importants.

The year will not make a big difference. The mileage will.

to add to this if you can try and get hit by them too because they are the best the deal with. I hit a WWII vet(he was at fault) just over a year ago and they way they handled my claim was really great. They are the best insurance company all around.

My insurance company tried to give me $2900 for my 92 BMW 325is when i got hit, full liability..

I fought with them for a month and did a lot of research, sent in a lot of what I found, and I ended up getting double what they origonally offered

Not true. I use USAA. I am 26, wife 23. We have an 06 tC and an 03 Corolla. Both full coverage with $50 deductible. I am paying $523 every 6 months. And that includes my renters insurance.

When I totaled my Sentra last June, my insurance company gave me 10k for it. I bought it for 12k. It was 4 years old. Quincy Mutual Fire Insurance in Mass, they seemed to pretty fair about it.

But yeah, the fact that your insurance company compared your car to salvaged cars is complete bull____. You're right in fighting them for it.

Don't you just love insurance companies!!!

I have American Family. I totalled a '00 Mitsubishi Galant with 113,xxx miles. They told me, they use NADA (or as they call it in the business, "Orange Book".) I did a estimate with Blue Book which was $7k-ish. They said Orange Book stated $5,200 with my $500 deductible but without it; it was $4,700. But they did pay for my sales tax on the new car that I bought.
