Please Search, there is an article on here about "Clutch Stop" mod. I hear it works wonders. Just search for that.

No dude...that mod is to remove free space below the enagement point. My problem is when the clutch is fully up and you press down on it. There is like 1 inch of no resistance. I beleive it is somethign to do with air in the clutch cylander. Ill check this out at the dealer.

mine does the same thing. i'd be curious to know if it is normal of if there's a problem. I've had my car about a month now and I just started to notice it. it may have been like that all along tho.

Mine does the same thing, and there only seems to be two inches where my clucth actually engages and then I have the free play behind the clutch engagement.

stl what springs would you be talking about? I only have 320 miles on my car so the clutch is about as good as it will ever be.

.. Umm Most of the manual transmissions I have driven have free play before it nears the friction point. I would say its normal.

I take that back. There is always some sort of tension. I guess you are talking about NO resistance at all when you depress the clutch pedal for the first inch or so?

Then that could just be an adjustment.

Correct. Anyone who feels it's an issue can go to the dealership and have the freeplay adjusted. It's also fairly easy to do yourself, on just about any vehicle.
