front windshield cracked =(
Of course it wont be warrantied. But check your insurance... and if you dont already have it, get glass coverage for the future, you wouldnt believe how expensive getting glass replaced is... especially if you use good quality replacement glass.. somewhere between $700 and $2000 is not uncommon for many windshields depending on the type of car and the quality of the glass.
In MN the companies require glass coverage.. no deductable and it is well worth it!

Its cheaper for them to pay the 60 bux then a whole replacement that will run you 600bux. And for everyone else... junkyards are a horrible place to get windshields. other glass thats not stationary is fine but do not trust the durability of a used windwhield.. its just not safe. your windshield is a critical structural part in a roll over and its not worth risking you life to save a little money. I might sound like I'm preaching, I just want to get the right info out there. I've done years of training just to make sure we do them right. hope this helps.
im gonna try to keep this simple... your winshield is made out of laminated glass, two pieces of thinner glass w/ a thin layer of clear laminate in the middle so when it breaks it stays in one piece. when it cracks it actually breaks on the inside of the outter layer of glass. a good repair kit is setup to vacume out as much air/debrie inside the break as possible. then fills the break w/ a resin, or liquid glass, at 25psi. once its filled a longwave UV light cures the resin and bonds it to the exsisting glass. Some style of breaks will dissapear from sight almost completly and others might still remain visible even though the repair was successful. you can get a repair kit at walmart or places of the sort for like 5-10 bux... trust me they don't work. the kit we use cost 3k, which would you trust. wow.. i've been way to long winded tonight. ...
You can try the dealership but they probably wont do anything. I had the windshield replaced on my 05 IIP TC with an non OEM but very popular brand, and it turned out ok but not perfect. If you have your insurance cover it, have them put in the OEM window. Mine had warp parts near the edges of the glassm the OEM didn't.

My glass insurance covers mine. But do you have a system in your car yet. If you still are stock bring it to the dealer, and complain about a defect in the glass. It look like there has been a little problem with it just buy reading the threads.
we order our windshield from a company called Pilkington. They have great quality glass, in my opinion almost OEM. another good company is PPG. ask the body shop or glass shop who they order from. also ask to see the sticker that comes on the new windshield because that will tell you where it was made. some of the cheaper producers of auto glass buy the old glass molds from the larger producers after they are done w/ then and thats when you will get warped glass, distorsions, and even a bad curve/fit. just remember you get what you pay for.
I live up here in Washington and I swear I've never seen so many damn semis that haul rock, dirt, sand, and what not. Seriously, I can't go one day without these morons (because they don't secure the stuff the hall so it just flies off the back) letting their crap fly all over my windshield and front end. Though it only really ____es me off because they just don't give a sh** about anyone elses vehicle....
