I'm bad for it and everybody stares through me especially when I go to squeegee the glass roof off. I will actually only stop at local gas stations that have good squeegees and if they used fresh cleaner or water (some use the old stall water that stinks with bugs in it)

I keep a spare drivers-side wiper in mine, for when it rains or to remove condensation. I just sweep it towards the back and down the backlight. I occasionally use the gas station skweegies, but its hard to get good ones where I live. One week the station will have clean water, the next it resembles sewage. Thats not just one place, thats ALL of them.

About parking lot dents, I learned that it always pays to park as far from the exits as possible. On "black friday" when I go to work, Im taking my other car (89 Le Baron convertible, kind of a POS so dents mean little to me).
