Default Getting a tC? (Suggestions)

I'm just looking for some suggestions regarding a purchase of a used 2006-2010 tC. I'm not looking for anything with high mileage, preferably under 70k. To those of you whole already own one, do these car break a lot? Would it be a mistake to pay ~8k for one with under 70k miles and expect it to last around 3-4 years?

I can only tell you if your going to buy a used car dont hesitate to get it inspected before purchase. No reputable dealer, or private seller should object to this if they stand behind the sale.

As far as my experience with Scion, I bought one that needed some work but reliability has never been in question. My problems are things like flooded fog lights etc.

My 05 has lasted over 100k miles and I have had to do minimal maintenance
As long as there are no fluid leaks you should be fine
for extra peace of mind get a compression test done

Def get a comp test!! The rings in these motors are prone to fail. Just a matter of when. Some get lucky some aren't. I worked at toyota and seen to many at 30k mile and their ring/s go bad= mass oil comsumption. I own one and currently at 70k miles and always check because I'm scared of when my motor will go

Oh make sure that water pump is done! Another thing on the 2az that go bad real quick. Mine oozed at 25k

Engines are long lasting, but some do burn oil (mine is no exception, although I dont mind it)

Water pumps are also prone to fail, but IMO thats not a major issue
