Default Good ol pink slip UPDATED 10/18

"did fail and neglect to have said vehicle inspected in acordance with regulations of the DMV. RSA 266:5"

So there I was, sitting in traffic chillin' windows half down with my music playing(it wasn't loud, but it wasn't low either, 37 stock stereo.) almost home then a passing cop drives by me does a u turn 2 cars behind me and pulls me over. I honestly did not notice that my inspection sticker was out of date between work, car and insurance bills it completely went over my head I have been having a rough couple of weeks and junk. Just want someone to listen cause the cop did not seem to want to.

I just get aggravated, I drive slowly and cautiously to avoid getting any more tickets and popo's smack me with one anyway. Atleast if they take away my license my car will stay in the garage all winter. +1 for me. I'm honestly more worried about losing my license a call to the DMV helped answer some questions and assured me that I won't be loosing my license.

I loled at him when he wrote my car down as a "Make: Scio, Type: Tic"

anyone who lves in New England knows NH cops are lawfull

Sorry to hear that man. My first ever speeding ticket, the car was "Make: Toyota, Type: Hatchback" I debated taking it to court because what he wrote down, but I looked at my registration, and its listed as, you guessed it, a Toyota Hatchback. Ah well

My last ticket said "Make: Toyota, Model: Scion". Anyway, I guess this is a state-specific law? Do you need to have an inspection sticker even on a new(er) car? Where does the sticker go? How was the cop able to see your sticker was out of date while passing by your car going the other way? Glad we don't have that in CA.

Lol, Hunter, I wrote my reply before yours was posted. Funny how we are all making fun of the cops for not knowing anything about Scions.

Hmm, I should check my registration. I know my insurance is correct. I wonder if that could cause problems, if the vehicle described on the insurance does not match the registration.

Sticker's are mounted by on the front windshield right infront of our rear view mirror by the people who do the state inspections. Some people put them on the bottom right hand corner of the front windshield but most put them at the top center of the windshield. The cop was on oncoming traffic (left lane) You can tell it's out of year cause of the color of the sticker. Mine is out of date by 2 weeks. This is one of the few non moving violations in New Hampshire that can give you 1 demerit towards your record.

This just goes as a reminder to the rest of you guys check your stickers, Kinda sucks driving home you notice 3 or 4 other people with expired stickers makes me think the cops are out to get me sometimes.

lol I should dispute the ticket saying that I was not driving a "Scio tic" my car is registered as a "Scion" that BS defense if it worked would get me harassed by cops forever

If your sticker only expired 2 weeks ago then you can fight the ticket because you have longer than 2 weeks to renew before any action can be taken

just an FYI. I know here in NY, some cars have these lil scanners on the top of their cars on either side of the lights. it only works on ny plates, but when it scans ur plate, it tells the cop if there r any issues with ur car, ie. registration, inspections, stolen, etc. had a similar incident where I past a cop and kept going because I knew I was obeying all traffic laws, and then two blocks later he wass right behind me. and then I realized my reg had just expired, kinda forgot cuz my daughter was just born. but the cop was cool, explained the whole new system and now I have noticed more of these scanners of the top of cop cars. what bothers me about it, is that it cost like 7-10k to have per car...pretty steep.

They have the same thing in California. There's not much you can do, but a good place to start is by removing your front plate. That halves your chance of being caught by plate scanners and speed/redlight cameras.

I believe NH requires both plates, just like Mass does.

yes sir
Not having a front plate would have gotten me in more trouble :[

I've been pulled over for this last year when I drove my mom's car. Her inspection sticker was out so I got busted for it which is probably why he immediately gave me a ticket without second guessing himself. The thing is when I bought the car 3 to 4 moths ago I assumed they gave me a state inspection for 08, why would they give me a inspection for 07 when I would have to get it re inspected in 3 months anyway.

As far as I know there is no grace period, it could have been oct 1 the first day my inspection is up the officer would have still given me a ticket.

Thank God for hick cops in the south. They don't too much care for anything except speeders. Unless that is, commision is slack and their paychecks are almost post dated.

Right, but you have to ask yourself which ticket you would rather have. I don't have any outstanding violations which would be picked up by a scanner car, but I am still subject to those redlight cameras just like everyone else. It would only take a small lapse in judgement to run an orange just as it is turning red, and BAM, $380 ticket. The ticket for no front plate is just a fix-it with a $10 administrative fee (trust me, I know from experience). Regardless, there is no way I am putting that plate on there. After 38 plate tickets then maybe I will think about it. On top of that, I purposefully got a custom plate which is near impossible to decipher from an angled camera shot, so I think I have the right strategy.

You know I just thought of something. You know when the cops call your house and ask for donations for something I never donate to them because then I would have to donate to everyone who asked me. They probably put people who donate money in a special category. I'm probably listed under scumbag/cheepskate.

You know cops only pulled us over to check out the inside of our cars :]

So I brought my car to the dealer to get it inspected first thing in the morning. With appointment it only took around 45minutes. When the service guy handed me the keys he told me that the service tech noticed that one of my struts was leaking hydrolic fluid. My car only has 3300+miles on it and it's a 07, 4months old. Any word on that? could it have been damaged in the inspection test? I drive my car very gently so I'm just curious. It won't cause me any problems for now and my car passed the inspection with the leaky strut. Anyone else have any problems with their struts? A replacement strut has been ordered. Warranty is paying for replacement and alignment.
