If you can, keep your car in the garage at night. Don't leave it alone too long. Put a few miniature spy cameras in the inner corners of your car with 180 degree capture and let it record. Catch the people in the act and get them for what they have ($$$).

try a scytek vx8000 alarm system and grab it off of ebay. its got all the bells and whistles of the viper systems, but its got a camera where you can take shots off an LCD remote and they'll come straight back to you instantaneously so you can see who just f'ed up your car.

When I bought my Second Sunfire back in 03 it had an alarm already on it... which I soon enough found out I'd end up disabling it most of the time at home (I live in the boonies) because it would go off if a plane flew overhead, a cat walked near it, thunder... you name it. My car was parked right under my mom's window so when it went off in the middle of the night it would scare the crap out of her and I'd have to deal with her running into my room screaming "NIKKI GET YOUR A** OUT OF BED AND TURN THAT EFFING THING OFF NOW!!!!"

Maybe something like that would be an anti scratch deterrent??

It would be so nice to be able to have something that could ground to the frame and set off an electircal charge to anything that contacts it that can draw a current without frying your electricals at the same time. Shock the hell out of the dumba** keying your car.

Maybe you were an as$hole at one time while driving.

Destruction of property is a cowardly thing to do, but at times, certain as$holes deserve it.

There's this idiot near my home who takes up 2 spaces to park his precious little Z. Despite numerous notices from his neighbors, he ignores them. One morning he woke up with racing stripes, the permanent ones, all over his Z. He nearly cried and now parks it properly.

my advice, one, don't drive like a jerk cutting people off and peeling out from every intersection. two, don't park across two spaces. park your car neatly so that the cars in the adjacent spaces can open their doors with ease. lets see...park your car out of site, out of mind, if you have to walk farther so be it to save your paint job. is there anything unique about your tc other than the license plate that tells everybody else it is yours? i keep mine nearly completely stock cause i don't need any of the jerks i know ruining my paint job.
also, i believe in karma, generate some good car karma by letting people merge and change lanes around you, and being paitient and not tail gating and so on, remember, what goes around comes around.

eh, parking farther away doesn't help. It attracts the a**holes driving by. I've had rocks thrown at my truck parked in the back of a Mall lot. I used to do that with my tC, but now I just park (like was said) nice and neat and as in the lines as you can get.

Biggest tip of all:

If you don't like the attention you're getting now, then don't do anything to draw anymore attention to yourself. As stated: don't drive like an idiot and cut others off. Don't show off your car in your school parking lots. Don't burn out on school property where other's will see/recognize you. Just don't do anything that makes people turn their head and you should be ok.

There are times when we want to put the greatest distance between our cars and those around us. Nobody likes door dings, if you must... you can take up two spaces, but park as far away as possible from the store entrance so that you don't anger people.

I don't think you'll ____ off anyone by doing that, unless it's the Christmas shopping season... then you're better off taking a taxi. Believe me, the $10 you pay is worth it compared to spending 30 minutes looking for a parking spot, and another 30 minutes trying to exit the shopping center.

I myself take up two parking spaces:

But it almost NEVER get full. It's cool too because there's a window near where I park when I put a web cam and I can look at my car from the click of a mouse.

Sorry to hear about your car getting keyed. I'm not gonna assume you're a ***** on the road or anything, sometimes keyings just happen from random buttmonkey's but they shouldn't happen that often randomly. Just do the best touch-up job you can on those things and try not to think about it until you can one day get a new paint job.

And yeah, don't park too far away from the crowd... think of fish. Swim somewhere in the middle and try not to stand out too much and few people will notice either way. That's assuming they're random occurances, if you ____ someone off, you know it.

If your having that much trouble maybe you should change your deductible on your insurance so it wont cost as much to get fixed....(depending what yours is now)
Sucks though, I like that idea of the car alarm with the camera..
