The number one response from all is to do anything to make sure it doesn't stick on your record. I didn't realize you were 18. Your insurance company might just drop you for that ONE ticket.

Insurance companies DO NOT want to insure 18-25 year old drivers. By law, they have to insure you. They will look for any excuse/reason to drop you. This was told to me by a CHP officer last week.

Since the March 2003 invasion of Iraq, about 2600 American troops have been killed in combat and war related incidents. During the same 41-month period, more than 22,000 teenagers, ages 15 to 19 died in traffic accidents on U.S. roads.

Check out this weeks Autoweek (September 4th, 2006)

Also, by having a clean record, next time you get pulled over you won't have a prior history with the cops so they might be more willing to give you a warning for that next time (knock on wood).

Whatever you do, get yourself a good radar detector.
Escort passport 8500 x50, valentine 1, or that new Bel RX 65

Slow down...or get a radar detector! One ticket should not make your insurance go up...the next one will!

A is the cheapest way out at face value.
B if A doesnt strike it off the record, assuming B does. In the event that B still forces the offense on your record, you should go back to A
I don't think pleading not guilty and dealing with the courts later is that great imo. If/When found guilty, you're not likely to get your option A back. Option B might be honored, but on top of your court costs and the such, it can get quite expensive.

Talk to a lawyer. Most of the time they can keep it off your record and save you some insurance money. Get your legal advice from someone with experience in your area not from us in other states. Talk to a lawyer, figure out what your options are, then pick.

yeah my insurance company (USAA) wanted to give me the boot and would have but my record was totally clean up until then. I've slowed down a lot since my incident...After almost going to jail (90 and above = your butt in jail in VA) and losing my insurance I've realized that not only is it a lot safer to slow down but it's also a whole lot cheaper.

My wife just got one for 38 in a 25 on a street near home. Worst I ever got was 88 in a 55. Oops.

go to traffic school and pay, your record will stay clear of the ticket and the dmv and insurance will not be notified, so your insurance company wont raise your bill. go to court before your required and request traffic school its only $22 here in s.d. and the court takes payments on thier citations.

Whatever you do, don't pay the ticket initially. Yeah, it's only $75 up front, but you'll be paying a whole lot more in insurance premiums for the next 3 years, assuming you don't have any more violations. I'm not sure where you're from, but here in Massachusetts, you have 2 options: pay the ticket right away (and get hammered with an insurance surcharge) OR check off not guilty, and have your day in court. Interestingly, in Massachusetts, your initial hearing is with a magistrate, not a judge, and the ticketing officer does not have to be present; just a state trooper to represent "the state" is sufficient. If you lose that case, you can still appeal again, this time in front of a judge and the ticketing officer has to appear, or the case is dropped. Trust me, I've recieved several tickets, but none of them are on my record. And we aren't lucky enough in Massachusetts to have the option of "driver re-education" or whatever its called.

Dude, get a lawyer. I do every time. Even just for speeding tickets. Sure you'll pay $1200 (approx) but that ____ dissapears like it never existed.
