Default Got A Speeding Ticket.........

72 in a 65 by the Wonderful Colorado State Patrol, 1 point ticket. Cop was coming from the other direction. HE was so far that i couldn't even tell it was a cop.

The Road looked like this, a 4 mile straight away on the eastern plains of Colorado.

My Local cops (Jeffco) which i'm friends with (took a couple ride alongs) laughed at the ticket and said "HOW DARE YOU LOL" Jeffco cops don't bother with speeders going 10 over, as long as your not going 20 over, they won't bother you, but 7 over, BIG NO NO with Colorado State Patrol on a Wide open, straight away.

So if you come to Colorado, don't go 7 over LOL

And if you want to flame me over a jogging pace faster,

Road looked like this.

LOL,, The Ticket is 50 Bucks. Really pricey for just a jogging pace faster. Thats a full tank of gas for me!

I'm gonna be goin to court and for the fun of it, plead not guilty, i don't think the cop could tell i was going 7 over from 500 feet away were he got me with him coming at me at 65 or whatever he was doin.

The things you learn from a ride along, Cops Need Probable Cause to even shoot you with laser or radar. They use the sound of your car acorss the road, and a visual estimate among other cars goin the speed limit and then you.

So when a car is coming directly at you, it's really hard to tell how fast there going until they are less than a 100 feet from you unless your at a angle.

Court Date is in August, Trial will be probably sometime in November or December, so over 7 months until this ticket is over with LOL

It could've been worse. When I was 17, I got a "75 in a 65" ticket courtesy of a CHP aircraft. I didn't make any effort to fight it because I was young and naive, but I have since learned that aircraft tickets are the easiest to contest.

thats why i got one and it has been a blessing. started off with a cheapo $40 detector, and now i have a $150 cobra. still cheap compared to the escorts and other high dollar ones but it has never failed me.

Hey All -- I'm new here. This is the first thread I saw and I had to open it because.......... Almost exactly ONE month after getting my car, I got a speeding ticket for doing 85 in a 65. (I was actually doing 86, but I guess the cop wanted to give me a break). Haha!

radar detectors wont prevent you from getting a ticket, it just gives you a heads up that youre about to get a ticket

What freeway was this? I saw a plane flying along the same path as the freeway while I was motoring down I-15. I had just passed the CHP station near the Riverside/San Diego county border. I assumed it was one of "those planes" I quickly dropped from 90 to 75.

I wouldn't try going 7 over the posted speed limit on a military base. They'll nail you for even 2 over!

In fact...it's almost easier to walk!

Haven't tried it myself but I've seen people use it and it seems to work pretty well...
