dude just go to court, he doesnt have enough evidence to prove how fast you were going. If he was driving the opposite way, there is absolutely no way to tell accurately how fast you were going, and he didnt have a radar on you.
go to court, get it thrown out.

What freeway was this? I saw a plane flying along the same path as the freeway while I was motoring down I-15. I had just passed the CHP station near the Riverside/San Diego county border. I assumed it was one of "those planes" I quickly dropped from 90 to 75.
It was Highway 126 through Santa Paula.

i didnt even know they did that...i always see the signs that say "patroled by aircraft radar" or whatever on the 91 and the streets but i always thought it was some sort of scare tactic to slow down ppl....

They do it alright. I've seen light planes flying really low up and down the length of the 5 before. They can fly low and hit you with a radar, or they can fly high and visually track your progress between two measured points. Both ways are a bit sketchy. I heard that aircraft tickets almost always get thrown out by the judge when contested, because the methods used are so unreliable.

This reminds me of a speeding ticket I got about 3 years ago. I was driving home (Northern Colorado) from Seattle (22 hour drive), and was just west of Cheyenne (about 2 hours from home). It was about 3 am on a Monday morning, 3 people in the vehicle (1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee), torpedo luggage thing on the roof, and I got nailed by Wyoming State Patrol for going 81 in a 75. I thought that was definitely a BS ticket, he knew I wasn't about to drive to Laramie to go to court so he wrote me a crap ticket. Though I'm happy to say thats the only ticket I've ever gotten. (knock on wood).

That is such a BS ticket. Sounds like an easy one to win in court. Good luck with that (not that you should need much)

Thanks Man!

Yea, it should be easy. So far talking to my cop friends, a neighbor who is a lawyer, this is so far what i got down.

1. The Cop Had No Proable cause to radar me unless i was less than 50 feet from him and obviosuly flew by him.

2. To even have probable cause, To tell if i was going 10 over while coming at him is phiscaly impossible since humans have VERY Bad depth preception.

3. The Cop was moving which means that the Cop must bring not only certification from the radar he used, but also certfication of the Vehichles Speedometer certifying it to within 1mph.

4. The cop to even find probable cause while in a moving vehichle is against protocol unless it's obviosuly 20 OVER!! And also impossible for humans even to figure out.

So every cop, and lawyer friends said this is a slam dunk case and is also extremely likley a cop won't even show up for a person going 9 over. Should be easy to dismiss unless the Judge is out of his mind.

Guys, cops have set court dates (generally) for traffic related incidents. Stop banking on him "not showing up" because this is actually fairly rare that it happens. (and yes it does happen)

And just pay the ticket, its only 50 bucks for you getting caught going over the speed limit. You got caught, along with everyone else complaining about "b.s." tickets in which they got for speeding. Man up, your not all kids. (I hope)

Its not hard to tell if someone is speeding, especially when coming at you, especially with traffic.

I did not read but did he radar you or not? I've seen conflicting posts. Either way radar's don't just "fall out of calibration" and if he radar'd you then he doesn't have to show certification to his speedo.

Simply, guys if you get caught, you get caught. Its a petty offense yes, but you knew you were over and you got caught doing so. This is the problem with many American's I find, they think they can get out of EVERYTHING and its why we have such a speeding problem in America.

yeah, the cop told me 90 was a felony also when he kindly dropped my speed from 92 to 85 so he wouldn't have to arrest me...
