Got the wrong car/license plate on the Ticket:worth to fight for?
So..... i got stopped by a cop.. gave me a ticket
After i got home i just realized that on the ticket the make of the car, the color and the license plate is wrong. You guys think its worth to fight for?
To be honest i did ask another cop and he said... yeah sure.. go to court... why not?
What do you guys think?
My problem is that actually the cop gave me a ticket for 60 but he said he saw me doing 75 ( he gave me a warning for that) and i dont want him bring this up on the court. ( i dont know if i could get in to trouble for this)
Or just take it to a ticket clinic and maybe they could fight for it because of the wrong car and license plate on the ticket?

If the make says "Toyota" its not wrong. Most states recognize Scion as Toyota so you can't argue that.
Color, depends on how big of a discrepancy it is.
Plate, once again on how big of a difference it is.

Do trial by mail (I assume you're in California). You basically get a first crack at the ticket without you having to go into the courtroom. Check out Ticketassassin.com. It's run by a guy who used to be a driving instructor who told people how to beat their tickets.
Basically, by mail, you can just go to court and say; this isn't my plate, this isn't my car. You provide some evidence i.e. a photocopy of your registration, or a picture of your car. And the judge will probably through the ticket out. Technicalities count in court. Basically, this time you get a walk. But you got to do the paperwork.

ticket WONT be thrown out.
YOU signed it, this was something that YOU should have looked at BEFORE signing it.
you will just end up paying more because of court fees.
pay the ticket and move on

Well, the only way for you to get the ticket was if you got pulled over and the cop handed it to you. If this was a parking ticket, then by all means fight it but its a moving violation. How off is the color and number?
Signing a ticket is NOT an admission of guilt. Only that you recognize that you were given a ticket, not that everything on the ticket is factual. It is your agreement that you will take care of the ticket, whether innocent or guilty, in lieu of bail. The information on the ticket is incorrect, you may refute that. Regardless of if you go to court and are found guilty or just pay it which means you accept guilt, you still pay court costs so you might as well go and state the reason why you refute the ticket. Your logic should be based on the incorrect tag information and not the color of the car. That's just what I would do if I were in your shoes...
this has happened to me before.
i hired a lawyer and pointed it out to him and he said its irrelevant.
you were breaking the law and you got caught, doesnt really matter what car it was in.

I would fight it. It shows the cop pulled over the wrong vehicle. As long as you didn't behave like a douche then it should be thrown out. Like Domo said, what credibility does the cop have when he can't write down simple correct information. Be sure to take a photo of your car showing the license plate and a photocopy of your registration showing the make, model and color. I know plenty of people that have had their tickets dismissed due to incorrect license plate information on the ticket but they also didn't receive 7 at the same time. If the ticket information is clearly incorrect then there is no way for the cop to say it is for you. You complied with him when he pulled you over so that's his fault so fight it.

All this shows is the cop is a dumbass that can't do his paperwork right. Something that large- Probably worth the fight. Had he put white insted of sliver or something like that...That'll rarely if ever get a ticket tossed. But full on wrong info from another car...Probably won't fly and the ticket will get tossed.
I wouldn't worry about the cop going "Well...since you are being a little ____ and fighting the ticket-i should have written you up for 75" (Pretty sure that's not allowed-Only downgrades).
fight it, nothing on it was right and you can just say you couldnt see the ticket till you got home, a cop gave me a ticket for 10% tint but the officer must have put 70% on the ticket and the judged ripped him a new _______ and dismissed my ticket. Tint tickets in NYC are never dismisses mind you.
do it!
do it!
