yup

i'll only use solder when i'm wiring something like lights and stuff that requires splicing. thats just what i do.

Most of my experience with crimp/solder in the DC area has been on boats, trailers and trailer electrical couplings. I prefer to crimp a joint to hold a terminal in place and then solder. Trailers and boats have corrosion problems in joints which are not soldered. Tinned wire will improve this situation but is much more expensive although preferred in the marine world. I think that any terminal connected to a battery is likely to corrode over time and the connection will be more reliable if soldered.

So Taylor how did it look with the 4gauge wire. I'm thinking of using the same size. Using 8 is easier but with the electronics I'll have I think 4 will be better.

Also Taylor do you have pics of the setup

Thanks

Hey...

Well, I'm thinking about downgrading to 8g. after all.. I mean it looks great and everything, but I'm going to RE DO my kit with all same materials, and just use the 8gauge..

Not like I'm running a system right now, other than stock, so I will do up an 8g. to see if I notice anything.. prolly not.. but for like $10 why not?

I will post pics ASAP.

it looks great, I just need to research more as to why the JDM ground wire kit and the SUN, and all those brands have like 10 wires, and like 20 connections..
^^^ So, perhaps, the more grounds, the better??? I dunno...

I'm no electrician, neither am I a Toyota Electronics Tech....lol, so, if the one STOCK ground or if the 97 ground points of the above listed brands are better... I dunno...

Anyways, I'll post pics here in a minute... they were taken pretty quick so don't hate the quality...

brb, late.

-Tylor

btw, if anyone has ANY TOYOTA CERTIFIED electronics experience, or another MFG.'s experience with this... please let us know how the whole grounding thingy works... (IN DEPTH, if possible).. All i know is that, it frees up voltage, etc, to give more power and what not to whats needed...

thanks again!

okeeee...

pics:

ENJOY :D (damn, I haven't uploaded pics in AGES on here...lmao)

as you can see, barely ^^ I also sprayed a cleaner/protectant made by CRC on all the connections I made, the red spray spots, these will last a little longer here in this GA climate...lol.. btw, its not as humid as people think

and here are after pics of my lighting... (btw, I run Raybrig H4 bulbs and PIAA fog bulbs, damn fogs, can't notice a diff with the new bulbs, because of the tint of the fog lenses , waste of $40...lol)

non hi-beams^

high-beams^

NOTE: both lighting pictures were taken with no flash

and, the headlights are now NOTICEABLY brighter, and seem to project further in this fog we've been having lately here... AND, i can feel some more pull going into 3rd, and even a LIL' going into 4th.

if you guys are interested, I can sell you any color(silver, black, red, blue, yellow) 4g. or 8g. 24k wires w/ platinum connectors, and connector sleeves... basically a fully built kit minus installation, for $20 plus shipping..

lmao, like no one else here, hasn't made and sold they're own...lmao

and if you guys want a more, custom, non-ordinary ground configuration, preffered plugs, lemme know, and we can work something out, at little or no extra charge

Late.

I don't remember which magazine exactly, but I think it was either SCC or Import Tuner did a cheap mod article on a Civic, and they found that the ground wires added the most hp/$. It was like 2-3hp more, for about $40(pre fab kit). They dyno tested it. It won't help you win any races, but according to those guys, it supposedly adds power. . . all in all they won't hurt your car any.

yeah its like a 2hp max. but hey it's beneficial electrical effects rock. aka brighter lights , slightly better stereo , yada yada. smoother idle all that jazz. i will be making mine soon. just gotta look again at the length and gauge of the wires so i can build mine.

for sure!

but another thing.. I kinda shortened all the wires to the MAX as you can see in my pics, that way, its less distance of wire from point A to point B... so again, with the less resistance thing..

not like 7" off the total reg. wire length, is gonna add me another 5hp or anything..lol

I figured why not..?

late.
