Hey, I'm still pretty new at driving stick, but I've noticed that sometimes it's hard to get the gear selector to go into position, especially in first and second. I make sure that the clutch is fully depressed before starting to shift, and I don't let off at all until after the lever is in position. No matter what though, half the time, it feels as if the lever doesn't want to go into gear, almost like the lever is hitting some notches on the way. Is that normal? I remember when I first got the car, the shift lever would slide smoothly back and forth into any gear, but now after about 1000 miles, it's starting to feel very notchy, and rough (not the engine/transmission, just the gear selector box) Does this make any sense, lol?

 

bring it to the dealer, thats the best thing to do.

 

its normal. buy an aftermarket short shifter..........makes a world of difference.
