Default having trouble with the "search" function?

are you trying to search for something and coming up with a billion results to sift through? maybe the problem is how you're searching.

don't use the little ">>>>>>>power search" box at the top of the screen. use the "search" tab under "forums" (it's right between "rules" and "memberlist"). using that tab, you can specify mandatory terms (a big help), as well as restrict your search to certain forums only (eg, the tc forum). searching in that manner i have had little problems, and i suspect people who run into problems with the search are using that "power search" box.

just an fyi so that you can avoid people hounding you for not searching before posting

The search function is extremely slow (for me at least) and even when I use power search (advanced search options) it comes up with over 800 results.

Fyi

It takes some tactful searching sometimes, but it's not as bad as people claim, IMO. I usually have good luck when searching for something specific. You just gotta ask the right questions.

Like programmers say - Garbage in = Garbage out.

i believe most of the searching errors are from mispellings or user error. i must be the only one that use it
