Hello all, I'm new here!
Just saying hi to fellow tC owners out there! I have a silver streak tC that I got in July....and absolutely love it. I have a question too- I'm sorta interested in a new exhaust system, cause I want a better sound out of my car. I dont wan't a ricey kinda "fart can" system, just something that has a subtle, deep, throatiness to it. I heard a sample clip of the Injen system (part #SES2110), and I like it. What other systems would you guys recommend? Thanks a bunch!
for sound, the TRD exhaust is nice, especially inside the cabin - outside it's a little too high pitched, no popping or farting, but it would sound 1000 times better with an intake.
I'd recommend the cat-back from www.precisionmuffler.com it's got an awesome sound, cheaper than the TRD and it's got some nice power gains to boot, down-side is it's not legal and "may" pass smog, not too sure about if it will or not, I'm sure it will - but it'd probably void your exhaust system warranty. I wish I got it instead of the TRD exhaust, but I pre-ordered the TRD with my tC and it came with it on it, so ah well
the injen sounds pretty good, but it's still an axelback and won't give too much power gains - and any exhaust will sound much, much better with an intake, and even better than that with a better header
I say hunt for awesome power out of an exhaust system, and awesome sound will come right along with it

Hi, and welcome to the boards.
You will notice that the selection of aftermarket parts for the tC is still VERY limited. Many products are in test right now, and wont be available until next year some time.
My suggestion to you is wait, see what becomes available in the next 4 months. Save your money in the meantime so you'll have enough to go with whichever part you review and decide to buy.
As far as exhaust tone, if you arent looking for a substantial HP increase and just want a better exhaust note, I suggest the TRD exhaust. Its bolt on, and very easy to do and sounds deeper and fuller, but not like a lawn mower.
Hope this helps!

Yea, I had heard that the TRD setup was a little high-pitched. I saw "Trav"'s (?) tC on cardomain.com, and he's got a magnaflow on it. I like the look, but I'm still trying to remain legal. Its been sorta a downer so far looking at aftermarket parts, being that the car is still so new, but its understandable. Thanks for the replies.
There's few companies with axle back exhaust for the tC... including TRD, Injen, DC sports, and others.
It comes down to the sound, quality and price...
personally... i like the Injen exhaust design. There's less piping (hence less restriction of airflow). But the price is abit hefty for an axle back exhaust... i think early next year... u will see a great list of exhuast availability for the tC and at more affordable prices.
