Default Help me please!! Brake Issue

My 2006 Auto tc with 44,000 miles is have some issues with the brakes or at least i think.

When accelerating quickly from a dead stop, a little more then half way pushed down on the gas (tires are not braking, i havce full traction). The brake light comes on for a sec or two. The one that is directly below the temp and gas gauge that says "BRAKE". My e brake is down all the way, and i'm not touching the brake pedal at all when this happens. when braking the pedal seems fine and responsive and my e brake works as it should.

Pics for clicks.

What is going on?

Well, if you're going to change the pads, don't add fluid till after you change your pads because when you change them the fluid returns to the tank (Due to the fact your pads are low the caliper cylinder has to extend out more to reach the rotor causing a drop in fluid level)... After you replace them, it should go back to a normal level, if not then add some fluid to the MAX line...

^^^squeaking is a goog indication that the pads need to be changed also...That squeaking is the rotors being scraped because the pads are so worn down.

its not the pads that cause the squeaking. the pads themselves have a metal plate that once worn down to a point the plate starts touching the rotors and makes a squeaky noise. its harmless for the rotors cuz its made out of a soft material but its a good indication that your pads need to be changed out....

like mine... i have had my pads sitting in the trunk for 2 weeks and no time to change them out

Or the brakes are just squealing. This does not necessarily mean the pads are worn out. Some pads start making noise, and some are hard to remedy.

Check the pads visually to see if they are worn. Check the inboard and outboard pads, since the inboard ones will tend to wear faster sometimes. If they are not worn and are making noise, there is a few things you can try. But check them first to see.

if your pads dont need to be change
brake light on the dash come on because the fluid is not in the middle of what the tank wants to be this just find a steep hill and drive up it . the light will come on just like your giveing gas problem
low or too much.

IF the level is low and the pads arent worn much, then you need to find the leak

You can run the pads down without them ever making noise. However, if they have wear indicators they will eventually start to squeal. I keep a visual check on mine when I rotate my tires.
